The options for the INS Alignment for the F-15E is no longer on the special page. There is now a tick box on the additional properties page for the F-15E in the mission editor that you select if cold aircraft needs GC Alignment.

5:18 The reason why Longitude always must start with a 0 before the number is because the Longitude coordinates can go from 000 all the way to 180 degrees either East or West (where the 000 is the Prime Meridian, the Greenwich Line, and the 180 is the International Date Meridian), while the Latitudes can only go from 00 to 90 degrees North or South (0 being the Equator Line and 90 being either one of the Poles). But as far as Im aware, none of the DCS maps available today are located in regions of the globe with such high longitudes, greater than 100 degrees east/west. [edit] Correction: The Marianas Islands map is located at roughly 140-ish degrees East; and the Nevada map is roughly 115-ish degrees West (around Las Vegas). So the Longitudes in these maps will always be 1-something-something.

I'm guessing the reason you need the radar off for alignment has to do with the antenna's movement. It's probably enough to prevent the aircraft from being completely still on the deck. I also noticed if you're doing an alignment and move the rudder pedals the yaw from the nosewheel movement causes the alignment to temporarily stop. It'll switch from counting down to CG hold. It's a really cool detail.

I believe you only turn on the radar after alignment not because of the radiation, since the plane is on weight on wheels, so the radar is not emmiting. I believe the problem is to regard of the radar antenna movement. Inertial systems, even more older ones, are very sensitivity to movement.

@@itsjustme8947 I was listening to a fighter pilot podcast just yesterday talking about the 15E. (not Jell-Os channel) There was an F-16, F-35 and 15C pilot giving their impression of the Strike Eagle. They all agreed the plane itself was a capable beast but hinted that the crews were not up to snuff and limited it's effectiveness especially in the A/A arena. I've heard Navy pilots too opine that 15E pilots must not get much A/A practice as they're pretty easy to beat in a dogfight. I'd like to believe they're not accurate and am interested in your response. fyi The Navy pilots were both Top Gun graduates

@@terryboyer1342 For quite a few years, the E was primarily tasked as CAS and yes, our air-to-air skills suffered as a result. The C models were tasked as our cover and thus, we all fulfilled our missions. As far as 'easy to beat' in a dogfight, well, let the record show that there has NEVER been a combat loss of an F-15. As for the Navy? Well, they're Navy. What else can I say?

at 00:40 we dont have this gc alignment option in the newly eleased module. Im really struggling to get GC aligned and any ordnance recognised by the systems.

don't think it's the redioation messing with the alignment, The Radar itself is a pretty big mass moving from side to side, so you don't want anything that causes latteral movement when aligning a gyroscopic anything, IF possible. same reason you don't rearm the F-16 or the F-15 while aligning, it will mess up your alignment.

Radiation from a fighter plane radar can kill a human, so you have to make sure everyone is clear of the front of the aircraft. I'd imagine turn on the radar would be a late step.

The RADAR does not transmit on the ground unless you connect a prox box which simulates the jet being weight off wheels. No prox box will ever be connected while the engines are running though.

LOL I think the that if we actually get the F-15E in 2023 - it will be released at 23:59 on Dec 31st, 2023. Razbam has a bad history, and I feel sorry for anyone suckered into giving them money in Feb for a release that was still 6-8 months away from completion. For the record - the reason the pre-order was not on steam is because THEY HAVE NO RELEASE DATE FOR IT YET. You can not put pre-order content on steam unless you have a release date for it. So, I will be SHOCKED if we actually end up getting this aircraft, which has been under "development" for 6 years now, in 2023. It could happen? Yea. I am not holding my breath. What I could give for another flight sim to compete with DCS. :(

Nav alignment always has to be set but you are so used to the routine, it takes a couple of minutes. GC alignment doesn't normally take this long. An alert aircraft will be fully aligned so you're off the ground and in the fight in minutes. Always loved to hear the tower say 'Unrestricted Takeoff Authorized'.

The backseat for the f-15 strike eagle isn’t primarily incharge of the radar like in the tomcat there more in charge of the heavy weapons so they call them WSO or weapons systems officer. The WSO is coming in the future but did not make it on release.
