Another vid? And you're flying the Su-57? Truly special! I hope we can get an updated Su-57 model soon though, cause I have done some digging into the Su-57 and it has 2 bays, theoretically, the pics look legit but of course nobody focuses on that part of the aircraft as much as they do arguing whether or not it has stealth capabilities or not. Also, kinda upsetting that you switched tbh. I would have preferred if you stayed in the Su-57 for multiple rounds. We all know how good you are in the Raptor, we need more GS Su-57 piloting

Question here, when a missile goes “Pitbull” & has to go to its own radar, is the missile radar on from the time it leaves the rail or does it turn on once it no longer has guidance from the aircraft? Does it’s own radar have to re-acquire the target? I figure that’s doubtful, but I guess my question boils down to this: how is the tracking data transferred from the craft’s radar to the missile? Anyone?
@uberschnilthegreat22
@uberschnilthegreat22 Жыл бұрын
It's dependant on the type and variant of the missile, an AIM-54A Phoenix for example only goes pitbull after a set amount of time being off the rails, even if soft or hard lock on the target from the F-14 that launched it was lost, it'll instead initially rely on inertial guidance (guessing where the target will be by using the last known heading and velocity) until the Phoenix A goes pitbull and searches for the target on its own. An AIM-54C instead immediately goes pitbull the moment the launch aircraft loses soft or hard lock on its target, looking in the same area the launch aircraft lost lock.
@OVRxNxOUT
@OVRxNxOUT Жыл бұрын
@@uberschnilthegreat22 what’s the difference between hard & soft lock? Thank you for the info.
@_ace_defective_
@_ace_defective_ Жыл бұрын
My understanding is that the missile radar is off when the missile is launched (unless it is close enough to go active off the rail). It then receives data from the aircraft via data link, and uses inertial navigation as needed to guide itself. When it reaches its pitbull range, or if the launch aircraft loses lock, it turns on its own radar, attempts to find the target, and locks onto + guides towards the first thing it sees.
@bluefox9436
@bluefox9436 Жыл бұрын
@@OVRxNxOUTiikr that's the difference between actively locking a plane with a standard radar lock (hard lock) and TWS lock (soft lock). The hard lock allows you to fire all sorts of radar guided missiles at the enemy whilst getting information like distance and closure rate. The TWS lock only gives you a limited amount of information and only allows certain types of Fox 3 missiles to be fired in this mode (for the US that's nearly their entire Fox 3 arsenal, but for example early R77s still need a hard lock to be fired). The advantage of this type of lock is that the radar return is weak enough to not trigger the hostile RWR making him completely clueless about the incoming missile until it goes pitbull.
@lebensraummetal
@lebensraummetal Жыл бұрын
@@bluefox9436 not to mention you can softlock multiple targets in TWS mode. The beam points directly at one target when hard locked, or at least thats how they used to work.

There is no fucking way in the real world a Su-57 would take an F-22 in a head to head matchup. Raptor vs. Felon, the Raptor commits a felony every time!

One day, some how, I want to end up in a dog fight 1v1 ... A10 and F22. I guess I'd have to setup all my stuff again for that to happen though.

Maybe a stupid question but why is the canopy of the su 57 so dark, they got tinted windows or what?

I think a rematch of a Gripen vs Su-57 in a turning boss fight would be great to test pilot skills on turning capabilities. Haha, 13:55 is where you possibly made him notice on top of the mountains while in 14:55, he'd be like (Hey my idol! Notice me!) popping flares like that to be easily noticed as well. It's such a cold-hearted setting you guys did just to rematch 5th gen fighters.
