The F-4 was originally created to be a carrier-borne, all weather, fleet defense *interceptor* using missiles as its primary armament, with the express purpose of smacking down sovie cruise missile carrying bombers before they commit the cardinal sin of touching merica’s boats. Penny-pinching politicians however, decide to get in the way and force the USAF to adopt the plane as well. I can see why the plane underperfomed in the early years of Nam against small, nimble fighters in cqc when its role is to intercept bomber-sized targets with missiles from long range, its like when you’re forced to wear shoes not to your foot size.

Ever since I was a kid in the 80s, the F-4E 2 has always been my favorite fighter jet. Incredible looking airplane.

Judging by your videos, the Meteor and R-77M are its equals, or maybe even better.

Imagine the 2nd J15 pilot getting his hand on fighter jets like F22, i mean he made the J15 vs F22 looks like an F22 vs F22, what a pro pilot🥶
