Transitioning to forward flight is everything and we never see that.Now you’re building a different airplane it doesn’t make sense. 🤷🏻‍♂️ We all know you work hard and are very intelligent.But we got to see forward transitioning. 😊

Hey, transition is proven and many times filmed with a 1:12 size printed model. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3zPpWiVh56MjKc This is a 1:10 model wich flies and hovers allready, inbound is next step. now i start slowly to build a 1:8 size model.

It is incredible what you have accomplished...but, the fans in the wings? Can't you duct the thrust as in the real one?

For a 1:10 size model or smaller roll stabilization is just critical, it will flip over if you don’t have a kilo pressure in the wings. Once we go bigger with an 130mm fan for example instead of 90mm that idea would be working

I stepped outside to sand mine down a little and realized pretty quickly the sun here and heat cause major warping. Gonna have to make a mold to form a foam copy or carbon fiber shell instead

Yeah i have the 70mm one. Ive gotten the fans for the main thrust and hover. I have all the main parts of the plane printed excluding the wings themselves. I paused after it got warped but luckily it was only the last two pieces i had printed so not much to have to reprint but i do want to attempt the carbon fiber skin and eliminate the inner areas besides the frame. But its been a fun build. Its what got me into 3d printing which i got the ender3 v2 and later a k1 max. I think the change they made to the software is what mainly effected it warping since the last two parts where from after the changes to software and firmware. I know ill be having at least two of them printed off eventually. One for the wall and one to fly. Just recently picked up a cnc so i need to start on the internal frame. Dont let the nay sayers bother you, for the price of what the models are at, and the videos available with that, its reasonable and with the effort you have put into it is more than people can ask for. Its a beutiful build and a lot of us enjoy it and are happy you have taken the time to share with us. Youve put a lot into it while maintaining a family and a fulltime job, can only have respect for that. If those wanting more out of it with really high expectations, they should put their engineering skills to work and help out and troubleshoot the issues themselves and let us know to help the entire process move forward instead of just complaining. They sound more like karens than anything to pay much attention to. Keep it up, its a great piece of engineering and an enjoyment to build. Ive learned a ton of new things that i wouldnt have had it not been for this so thank you.

@Joelmelanie yeah as far as the carbon fiber goes and working with that kinda stuff, experience is no issue here, been around fiberglass work my whole life so it wouldnt be to hard for me. The warping is my own fault, being in california sun and about 100°f out i shoulda known better. Plus it was only the lw-pla not the newer stronger type of lw.

I can only do from flight to hover, the battery technology is just not there yet to go from vertical take off to flight, the lipos are like 60% drained once getting in flight

Used solidworks and fushion, took me almost 8 years to design the model and making the moulds, still not perfect 😅
