Being a former Air Force Fighter Aviator, I really enjoyed this renovation. You don’t see many metal fighter models these days. I’m not sure if those were bombs, more like fuel drop tanks. The F-4 was known to use a lot of fuel. Great restoration, thanks for sharing.

I think it's anything short of miracle that you managed to find a clean cut peace of wing in what ever pile of mud and dirt this was sitting. And it's also a miracle that with all that dirt and rust, metal underneath doesn't have a single rust dent. And it's miraculous how all that rust went away in a instant without any trace when blasted with sand, almost as if it was just a cosmetic on otherwise good condition toy that was just made to look like it was taken out of some garbage dump. Miracle pure miracle!

Yep, caught on to this a while ago, but honestly, it's still entertaining. I figure if you had to spend time and effort on a crap shoot to find the perfect subjects, it wouldn't be worth making the videos. However, there are other restoration channels that do bulk estate auction type stuff and have to get really creative when parts are missing or damaged beyond repair. Still, this is entertaining from a certain perspective. I mean, you watched, didn't you?

I truly enjoyed this restoration. Sixty-five years ago as a combat infantryman in Vietnam there was nothing more we grunts liked than an "Alpha Sierra" (air strike) to help us out on the ground. But I recall us distinguishing who was supporting us, i.e, U.S. Airforce or U.S. Navy aircraft and pilots. I believe we thought the USAF flew the sleek tapered wing as F-104's, while we identified the the delta wing aircraft as USN bombers. In either case, both were welcomed!

No F104 flew in Vietnam. USAF flew F100 Super Saber and F4s in the south. VNAF flew F5s, A1Es, and A37s in the south. Many different USAF fighter bombers flew in the north. F4s, F105s,A1Es (Sandies- rescue missions) I flew U10B (Special Air Warfare) in the south May 1969 thru December 1969.

@@kchof8817 wrong. 104s were there for a couple years. The 479th TFW provided CAP with a decent success rate

You are right, looks like they were there in 1965. I was still partying in college in 1965. Thanks for the correction.

As an air force enthusiast as a kid, and now an airman, I can only applause at this restoration. Great job you did here with this F-4 ! I've been following your channel for years and am even more amazed by your work at each video. I'm still curious about what happened to this poor Phantom II before restoration.

Not only is this guy obviously very talented with his restoration skill, but also with filming techniques and video editing as well. Plus he seems like a super chill dude to hang out with and have a couple beers with right outta the Heineken cooler. Great stuff bro.
