F-4 Phantom II - Tamiya 1/48 - Scale Model Aircraft Diorama

Now look here! As if the fabulous work on the Phantom was not enough you go and surpass it with this whole scene. I'm dusting off my Academy F4J Jolly Rogers, I hope they forgive me. Just spectacular sir.

Actually when I started the F4 I thought about putting it in a jungle scene with a soviet tank and some 3d printed figures (predators and Arnold schwarmegger including crew). But I feel a bit overwhelmed by painting figures (for another diorama), so I did something more quick and that’s what we can see now here :) How was the academy kit?

@GeneralPelle - Scale Models & Dioramas Quick or not, it was awesome. The academy is still waiting. I'm getting on in years and have not long come back to modelling, and since the F4 is my all-time favourite modern jet fighter, I am determined to be in a position of taking my time and stop being scared of messing it up. Your video showed another dimension to weathering effects. I will watch many times and adjust here and there (I hope). But again, that result was,as they say, inspiring.

Happy to hear that, that’s why I’m making this channel :) Oh italeri kits can be really challenging to build, depending on the kit of course. Where can I find your work?

Looks good so far. Brush painting is always hard. The blue color looks nice, but there are some visible brush strokes with the black and greys. You need to thin down the paint more and work in thin layers to eliminate them, paint retarder can also help here. And the engine nozzle is bronze? Never seen that before. I would make it a steel color and use some oil paints to create the desired effect (lookup my f-18 video). Your construction work looks great, considering it’s an Italieri kit. Did you use a lot of putty? How was the fitting?
