Been a Motley fan for decades but there are some good points here. In 2004 when there was talk of them getting back together, Nikki had Brides of Destruction. Said it was the real deal not a side project. Crue gets back together, never hear from Brides again. I will say, if Motley has a new younger fan base and they go see them live, they are going to be pissed! The casual fans want to see Vince Neil play his candy rock with MC. When John Carobi was in the band, he brought a whole new element of strong musicianship. That 1994 album with the Crue is in My opinion the best of them all. The issue was that it was a commercial flop and when MC went on tour with Carobi to support the album, no one went to the shows at all. So Nicky Sixx did a complete 360 turnaround, fired Carobi and hired back Vince " FAT" Neil and carried on like nothing happened.. At guess what, the causal fans ATE that up TOO.

You are absolutely spot on. I was a huge Crue fan until I learned who they are. Nikki and Tommy blocked me on Insta because they were bashing fans for supporting trump or the 2nd amendment.. So I called them out on it. Their mature response was to say something cheeky then block me before I could give a response. This was 2 months ago. So they build up dumping on their fans to announce another tour. They also have had very outspoken opinions about steel panther who as far as im concerned is the spiritual successor band to that era of hair metal from the 80s. Steel panther rocks. I saw Vince with my girl in august because we love the song " dont go away mad" and he looked and sounded awful. The generic shout at the devil shirts being sold and all the robots purchasing them ( I was no better wearing my bad boys girls girls girls muscle shirt) And just the complete lack of self awareness or repressed awareness. His own band outperformed him when he took a break and the guitarist sang a metallica song. The way I see it is god gave them amazing talented gifts and they squandered it time after time. They may have money but they are all just shells of their former selves. Failed marriages, gold digging replacements, food to replace drugs for vince.. Tommys kids hate him. I think karma got them. Only reason im even tempted to go to this tour is because of def leppard and poison. I can confirm they rock.

I saw them live on both tours, and I still think the Girls Girls Girls tour had the most people in attendance. This could be factually incorrect, but where I lived, Motley was at the absolute pinnacle of success with Girls. Dr. Feelgood was incredible though, and hit right before Grunge broke. Feelgood seemed to bring in a lot of casual Crue fans. People that just didn't follow Crue before that. So you may be right, but I think it's arguable.

Any hardcore junkie would laugh at that and tell him he needs to dial down his claims of being a heroin addict. I've been addicted to heroin on an off for over ten years. Musicians never retire. It’s a dog and pony show, or like the boy who cried wolf. We hear it so much that we just glaze over it. For me I’m not swayed either way I attend for the love of the bands. “Rock bands to be exact”. Lip syncing, piped in music, recording tracks, don’t matter it was always about the visual. Who can be the loudest, the best stage show, the most talked about. Yes some rock bands can still bring it, some can’t, it’s just like athletes, they can’t let it go and I’ll be right there with them. You all want to see a real show go see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

All the big money classic rock guys are getting old. The 80s and 90s bands still have another 10 years to make good money and do arena tours & residencies. Danzig's probably kicking himself for not doing a Misfits reunion sooner, but not doing many shows is smart for them because they just need a crew for a weekend.

This is not a new concept... KISS has been doing a "Final Tour", "Farewell Tour", "Reunion Tour", etc... So has Ozzy with the "No More Tours Tour"...

One and only Crue show I saw was in 2005 - Carnival of Sin tour. Sucked so bad I would've walked out but I kept hoping it would get better.

I saw Dokken would be having George Lynch in my state and I didn't buy tickets until George confirmed he'd be there. That how little I listen to rumors.

Great commentary on each topic! I agree with about 90% of it. Motley during Dr Feelgood were FANTASTIC on all fronts!

Tho Mick said he would give all free ticket, does not mean those who are playing in the line up will do the same.
@almosthuman564 жыл бұрын
That's quite confusing. So what exactly did he mean by inviting everyone to come for free?
@lisamcdaniel774 жыл бұрын
@@almosthuman56 I think he, Mick, Really thought they would never get back together, I am not sure if he was able to get some help with the ankylosing spondylitis he has, and wants to play while he still can.
