I’ve been a die hard Crüe fan since I was about 10 years old. They way they’ve been since Carnival of Sins (an AMAZING tour) has been a huge gut punch. Between the tracks, Mick, the shitty new single, Vince’s performance and stupid comments about studio albums, and Nikki’s books based on journals that he just so happened to have thoroughly documented in while he was strung out (yeah, right), I’m just done with them. I should’ve been done a lot sooner.

I'm 58. Saw a lot of major bands and concerts. All of them in either, Nassau Coliseum on Long Island NY, Madison Square Garden or at the Old Meadowlands across the Hudson river in NJ. Especially in the 80's. I saw all the huge bands from the 80's. Metallica, Priest, Maiden, Scorpions, Van Halen with both singers, Megadeth and most everyone else too! And...all the Glam bands too! Motley, Poison, Ratt, Bon Jovi and much more. And I'm 100% ANTI BACKING TRACK TYPE. I Will not see any bands that use them for "cheating". And that includes all, and everyone I may have once idolized.

Indeed it was an a-kissing interview. I am a lifelong fan and the new song is simply unmemorable and is not a good direction. Their egos were also on display (Nikki) and show how oblivious they are that they have gone from playing stadiums to the casino/state fair circuit in only a year and a half time span. We won’t talk about the Palm Springs NYE show that was cancelled. Seriously, did anyone walk away from the stadium tour with their arm hairs raised, no because it was typical “sloppy Crue”, complete with Vince having a well hidden tire gut wrapped in a kimono-esque robe. I still love Motley Crue, however these are not the best of times for an old school fan. Good on them if they are making money though. 👍

I can't argue with anything you said about Eddie Trunk. That being said, this radio show is his job/career. If Sirius XM is having a Motley Crue Town Hall, he likely got the order to interview them. You can bet on it. He's clearly making a great living doing what he's doing, so he has to sell himself out to some extent. We all pretty much have to bite our tongue once in a while when we must deal with people. He has to walk a very fine line between completely speaking his mind and biting his tongue so he can continue to get guests. I like Eddie. He comes across as a nice guy and genuine rock fan. He spreads the word about bands that people may not know much about. He's a funny guy at times. He's likeable. He wouldn't be where he is if he wasn't. This may sound ridiculous, but he's like the Lawrence Welk of our generation. Dr. Fook (as my Chinese friend would call you) trashing Eddie Trunk would be like Grandma trashing Lawrence Welk for not mentioning how unattractive all of the Andrew Sisters were to their faces. Stay frosty!!!

I used to listen to Eddie Trunk on Sirius XM back in the day. I really enjoyed the show but I noticed he was/is one hell of a name dropper. He was always bringing up how he has this guy/that guy on speed dial. Im not saying he doesnt have some rock guys who are friends but lets face it if he didnt have a platform for them to promote thier albums it would be "Who's Eddie Thunk??" Of course he is not going to offend Motley becase he makes $$ hosting events with all these bands on thier final half-leg trying to make that last buck. He got Rob Halford pissed at him when Trunk went on the air and told about a hotel incident and some gay party going on and Halford wanted to be a peeping tom. Totally uncool. Seems he got too big for his XXL Britches!

There is some truth to what Eddie Trunk said although he exaggerates a bit. When I saw van halen in 1981 at the Rochester New York War Memorial, David Lee Roth spent a lot of time sitting on the stage looking out at the crowd and bull$htting with them. My friend who was really into Eddie VH, said that he could see Eddie getting ticked off. Eddie Trumk claims that Van Halen could have done more songs.But I don't think they would have anyways so I don't think it hurt the set. Roth was such a high energy performer, I think he needed to take little breaks here and there.
