Joe was one the few fighters that even if he was 11rounds in front he still go full pelt for the 12th!! Great Champion and class guy that never resorts to bs unlike Carl who it must be said was a great fighter to but Joe beats him hands down ! Too much hand speed and workrate he never stopped. Also Carl mostly a wind up guy he respect Joe big time and craves Joe's valadation! Where Joe don't need that, I remember Carl tried to be smart about Joe once with Darren Barker and another boxer they let him know how good Joe was and he agreed. Unbeaten 46-0! Says it all disgrace how some the Muppets out there talk shit he probably best UK pound for pound boxer of al time!

@@HisExcellencyB Hopkins made most fighters he fought look bad. That became his whole game, particularly later on. He was in there to disrupt and it worked very well for him. Normally when a fighter is 43 I’d say he has no business being in a boxing ring but Bernard was different. He was coming off wins against Tarver and Wright and went on to dismantle Pavlik. Plus at 36 Calzaghe wasn’t exactly in his prime. He retired the same year.

Even I’m sick of hearing Carl Froch name whenever Joe Calzaghe is interviewed. Let’s put this into context. Joe Calzaghe retired before Carl Froch even won his first world title against Jean Pascal which if I remember rightly was on ITV4! Joe was 38 at the time. Carl probably 32 in his prime. It’s exactly the same situation that occurred when Degale wanted to fight Carl and Instead Carl retired. We don’t hear about Degale when Carl is interviewed and that’s because Carl mentions Joe in most interviews. Carl had a fantastic career with some great fights some of which I attended live, he should be proud and not feel the need to ever mention Joe. They’re from different eras. Like how Joe missed out on the Benn, Eubank, Collins era (I know he fought an old Eubank). Stop wasting your time with a legend asking him silly questions. No real fans care to see any exhibition!

People do seem to forget that Carl was boxing in leisure centres when he claims Calzaghe should have been fighting him. He’s an odd character.

Not really. Froch fought Groves who was his mandatory and up n coming guy

@@HisExcellencyB that was when he was an active fighter and still chasing a possible Vegas fight. Very different from going from fighting Roy Jones at MSG to fighting Carl Froch who wasn’t a champ.
