Interesting. In the flash, everyman original face looked like a mannequin s face because he had used his powers so many times that he had forgotten how he originally looked like. In the boys, this shapeshifter can replicate others appearance by touch and it is also implied that she can learn the memories and information from the people she impersonates. Meaning that she becomes the person she touches in body and mind. She probably forgets who she is every single time she switches her disguise. Talk about identity crisis. No wonder she became an assasin as she probably developed some nasty personality disorders due her powers.

I like to call them “It” cuz we don’t know anything about them. We don’t know if they were originally a boy or a girl. It’s not a person anymore. It’s someone wearing a leather skin suit 24/7. That’s why they sweat because the skin they’re wearing is a “leather suit” of skin. It’s crazy they were probably a 5 yrs old kid then suddenly they became a middle aged preschool teacher. Chameleons usually imitate and blend in with their surroundings. This shifter grows new skin and disregards the rest becoming a new person. It’s not camaflough it’s more like metamorphosis. Reptiles and lizards go through metamorphosis too so they probably have a reptile physiologically.

Just a theory but... Would it be possible that the appearances of Hughie's mother in Season 4 is none other than the current shapeshifter? There are three things I have issues with this scene that relate to the rest of the episode: 1. The old lady's eyes widen, and a sound effect plays when she is touched. This is, of course, an indication that the shapeshifter has acquired her form. But if the old lady is having some kind of subtle reaction, then how did Starlight not notice, at any point, that her form was taken (she may not know what the reacrion means, but surely it would raise some kind of flag)? I'm aware the old lady might just be freaked out someone running past her, but the why show the eyes widen as if she felt something strange happening? 2. I am assuming, because if this is not the case then it's crazy, the shapeshifter can only change into the person who last made phyisical contact. I don't understand the point of the selfie scene if she was just gonna gas her out of sight later anyway (cause contact is made there). 3. Someone else pointed out (and I immediately was wondering on first viewing) HOW DO THEY LOSE THE SHAPESHIFTER? They know exactly what she looks like and that she is wearing a stand-out, spotted coat. And there is no way she could have already shapeshifted again because then there'd be blood and flesh everywhere and people freaking out. It's not like it was the middle of a super busy metro area. TLDR; lazy / bad writing. Also the writers hate Hughie, god damb.
