Pakistani Police definitely knows how to ruin a brilliant riding day in the mountains! There’s no way I’m going back to being escorted or even have them search my hotel again, that’s not how I wanna be traveling…so I just drove off! Parting ways with my new travel family in their campers was sad but I will meet them again for sure and hey, I made it on the freakin’ motorway after all and nobody said anything;)

While I fully understand your frustration, your attitude really stinks. One of these days you will end up in really serious trouble/jail/or worse needing Consular assistance. You really need to chill out more and accept that you are in FOREIGN countries and hence have (to some extend at least) follow THEIR RULES. I can see a few countries between your curent possition and NZ where antics like in this video will end very bad for you. Better either cop on or ....find another way to get to your destination, coz it's their nations/country.....their rule. You can't accept that ...fine then stay away. Marc, get in touch with the German embassy and ask for advice about security. Some of the parts of Pakistan you are now riding through have a troubled past (and present). Additionally, Pakistan has just deported 1.5 million Afghans, many of whom are part of a tribal group that sits astride the Afghan/Pakistan border. You may well find that the measures being taken, even if cack handed and poorly communicated, are well-intentioned.

@@Noname123rr Haha, I am not mad at him, I only give some healthy criticism. As a grown up, he should be able to handle that. Pakistan is not a safe country. Just about every governmental website worldwide advices not to travel there. If one seriously prepares his trip, one would know about this. Anyway, my criticism is not about him traveling there or not. That is a personal choice, up to him. It is about the attitude towards local policemen who were most likely given an assignment and have to do what their superiors tell them to do. That is not any different than in your or his country. If he would have pulled a stunt like that in his own Germany, it would not have ended the same way. Traveling while being escorted is not fun, but sometimes one has to go with the flow and accept things as they are. Actually not so difficult.

I think the warnings / risks and danger of being a foreign (easily identifiable on a non local Bike) would make you an easy target for the different elements in the country who want to leverage you as a pawn. The police is over cautious to avoid bad press by either turning you back and worse run into a security issue. I hope you realize the fragile security situation (fragile Country/politically) you are in and it is not about your fun but about your security. Do note they are trying their best to protect you and the image of their country.

Omg, Police sent their rat as you were alone. 125cc in India is most sold bike but we mostly keep 2 bikes. One for city,petty jobs n daily commute where as second bike is for touring. You will find the 350 to 650 cc bikes mostly on tours. There are more big bikes too like gs n at in big percentage. Pakistan is not poor country but no big bikes as they don't manufacture bikes or cars.
