The first 2 episodes are ok.I didn't get attached to the characters, but the story intrigued me. I watched episode 3 and well... It's very bad. As for the haters, I will say that when I expressed my positive opinions about these 2 episodes, I received spam about how these episodes are bad and that I support Disney. However, to make it not so great, I will say that my negative episode 3 opinion is literally identical, but these are the defenders of the series who will tell me that I am a hater and I do it on purpose. It's sad because as a fan I can't even express my opinion because I'm being pushed into a war between fans and Disney.

I think you have the right approach! There is no right or wrong (ironically), there only is. Its fair to like some parts of it and criticize other parts (which is a key part of objective criticism, which sees the entire picture rather than a personal single viewpoint)

I'm not really into Star Wars. I came from a family of Trekkies but been watching Acolyte out of spite of all the haters. I like it. It's different and looks geared to bring new blood into the fandom. Not sure why people can't seem to grasp that things may not 100% cater to them. This doesn't ruin Star Wars because all the previous movies, books, series and video games still exist. Gatekeeping is the absolute worse thing you can do in a fandom and it makes the entire fandom toxic.

It is terrible. The writing sucks. The imposed agenda is cringey. It is not starwars. It is a political agenda masking under a starwars logo. If you enjoyed it. Fine. But you can not say something is intrinsically " good " just because you enjoyed it. I enjoy terrible B horror movies with cheesy acting. It does not mean I can say they are good. Facts are facts. When a script is terrible, the director has an activism agenda, the original fans are alienated and blamed, the actors do not respect source material, and the story makes no sense. It is bad. And people pointing out flaws in something is not simply just " hating ". It is passion because starwars is a legacy. And people deserve to see it have the best treatment it can have. In this case it has been trashed. The fact you enjoyed it is not the issue. But you can not defend the decisions they made. It is simply bad writing and direction. Hell, even some of the costumes and makeup look bad. You have to understand why people are upset instead of ruling them out as " haters." They have every right to be angry. Something they loved has been twisted and warped for hollywoods sick political pandering agenda. It is a shame. And disney should be ashamed of themselves.

Yo if your brain is simple enough to enjoy this show and all its flaws, then more power to you. For some of us we can’t get past the bad acting, flawed dialogue and story, bad makeup or sets considering they spent damn near $180 million. No blasters, blades are more deadly than lightsabers. Watch episode 10 of Andor season 1, the whole episode. Then compare that to any episode of the Acolyte so far and try to tell me you can’t see the difference in the story and the acting.
