I've just recently beaten this mod on both Expert and Master difficulties today. Even though I found it more challenging than the vanilla Maximum Velocity, it was a manageable and decent experience for the most part. :> But...I'm gonna be honest : the third Death Wind track definitely needs more playtesting. The weird wobbly wind physics makes the gameplay imprecise and also causes the AI to hit harder. It took me over an hour to beat that race on Master without savestates.

Glad you beat it. I asked the beta testing team if it should be cut because it was too hard, and it was a unanimous vote for no. There is a trick to it that, once you learn it, you'll be able to pull off more often than not.

@@PowerPandaMods To be fair, I'm not necessarily asking for a cut. The track layout itself ain't bad at all. ^^ I just think the wind physics need a little bit more tweaking to make the challenge fairer.

Some day you should add these tracks and the f-zero 99 tracks (frozen knight league. Secret tracks and mirror tracks) to bs f-zero deluxe so it has every snes based track

There are 15 snes tracks. 11 bs (big blues are two different tracks) 4 climax. 23 99 (big secret track was different from the mirror version) coming to a total of 53 so would need two brand new tracks so I suggest your new death wind and silence 2 with the climax bit.

Porthor, who worked on BS F-Zero Deluxe, is working on that very project. He has over 100 tracks finished, but hasn't yet released the patch.

By the way Mario kart for the snes was planed to a two player f -zero game but they had to slow it down to work so I think the 4 cups should be added to porthor patch.

I thought Maximum Velocity had 25 regular tracks, which could've fit both SNES and Satellaview tracks.

It it had 25 tracks, that's the path I would have taken. But it only had 20.

@@PowerPandaMods That's a shame. But maybe at some point there could be a Vintage Velocity II with BS F-Zero tracks and F-Zero 99's remix tracks to fill up the remaining slots. Would probably be easier than ASM work to get more track slots in the game

Just played it today, sick hack. How did you get the death wind and the port town beams working? Are those invisible conveyors?

Yep. You got it. It's a graphic swap of the conveyor tiles. Also present in Fire Field.
