I know I am one of the few people that is going to say this but these cars sound amazing! I believe a v10 or a v12 sounds a lot better but I still like the sounds! Especially that turbo kicking in and the growling in the corners! They also look centuries better than 2014 cars did!! If they were actually revving up to the 15000 rpm limit the sound would be thrilling!!

+Kyle Knight That's exactly the problem. They sound like racing cars, not like F1 cars. In the period with the V10 engines, the F1 cars sounded unlike anything else that existed. They were the fastest cars in the world, they sounded mad, they went fast as hell, there was still actual racing going on. These days, the cars sound like your average racing car, they're not the fastest anymore, safety regulations have made it a bore to watch etc. F1 has lost it's appeal, and it needs it back if it wants to stay alive and compete with WEC, MotoGP, Blancpain GT Series...

I'm probably alone but I used to really dislike the idea of the V6s, but now I actually prefer them. While the sound of the old V10s is iconic, it was so high and piercing it actually got quite painful to listen to. The V6s, while they do sound distinct, aren't the same of course, but it hasn't killed the sport for me. I've been more into it than ever to be honest.

That really is a loud, roaring turbo sound behind the Mercedes. Definitely an improvement overall but that 'vacuum' sound really needs to be silenced. The sport is considering major rule chances by at least 2017 to boost viewing figures but they didn't recommend to have them by 2016, which I agree with.

I hope you guys realize, that the main problem of F1 these days is not the sound, but the fact,, the the manufacturers have everyone by the balls. There are two options, either all the current customer teams get taken over by some car manufacturer, or the FIA provides a single type of engine for every team (although that would halt the development of the hybrid technology which would suck big time!)

The cars this year are starting to be more beautiful...they got the looks and are tricky to drive which means..powerslides, losing balance under braking and other fan oriented stuff.....but....and its a very big but....no proper sound for the fastest cars on a closed track.....pitty.....bring the god damn V1Os or at least the loud V8s....for fans sake....

In my opinion, yes! Especially the Mercedes engine does no longer sound like a moped. But if you mean louder by saying "improved", then no. The sound intensity is about the same as last year.

Thanks, they switched to a traditional, tubular exhaust system! So, sadly i think loudness is still a bit disappointing (i've never heard the power units live)

+jezza linko so I hate the v10, v12 but I don't mind the v8. v10 just sounds annoying when it hits last gear and v12 is getting 2 old and sounds like the v10 but lower pitch and more annoying. the v8 I don't mind coz I like it when they used the blower diffuse or I think that is what it's called. the v6 I love coz back in the 80s they used twin turbo charged v6 which had more power then the v10 and v10 and it sounded amazing so I reckon they could make today's single turbo v6 a twin turbo v6 and male it sound like the 1 back in the 80s. also idk if u guys agree but I think today's f1 cars look faster then the previous f1 cars
