It should be noted that rake does not require RH setting unequal. 5/5 is already raked from the factory. 4/6 is simply more raked. The scales for front and rear are relative to their respective min maxs.

@ufuqq29992 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much for that explanation. Finally, someone explains which steps to do first to create a setup. Are you going to do a similar step by step guide for the F1 2021 game or can I use this one for 2021, too? Is there huge differences?
@tantegreta4 жыл бұрын
Hi, very helpful video thank you!! :) Could you please also explain what "rolling" means and how it differs from leaning and rotating? thanks mate
@SimRacingSetups4 жыл бұрын
It's where the car leans / rolls to one side as you turn in to a corner. Stiffer anti roll bars and a stiffer chassis help limit body roll.
@aleksandarkirik69783 жыл бұрын
And what about a wet race? In that case we need to make the car to be as stable and planted as possible, right?

@janbruggeman60923 жыл бұрын
Great vid. I noticed you downshift really smooth and always at the same pace. Do you think it makes a difference if you downshift your way or downshift really fast like 5 gears in a split second. Does it affect the behaviour of the car or it doesnt matter?
@SimRacingSetups3 жыл бұрын
If you downshift too fast your car can become unstable and you'll find yourself losing rear grip on the way in. It used to be on older games that downshifting faster helped slow the car down but not so much on 2020.
@icecreaminc80133 жыл бұрын
sorry to be the one to break it to you.. but all the way right camber is maximum camber... giving the LEAST amount of contact. Its confusing because the numbers say -3.5 is min and -2.5 is max... codies have stated you ignore the number and you read the word for camber settings.... that means the MAX end = -3.5 (as it is in the real world) and MIN end is -2.5. TLDR swap the numbers, so -2.5 is on the MIN end of the scale, and -3.5 is on the max end.
@clambake284 жыл бұрын
Thanks for putting these videos together. Even though I have a grasp on all these settings I always like to see how others do it as you always learn something, and I like to come to your setups when I get lost or to compare (or just straight lazy, haha), so thanks...good stuff. On a little unrelated note, I've been trying for several days now to try and diagnose a major sound issue on the Xbox. Codemasters say's it on my end but my tests say it's F12020 but anyways.... I'm just trying to find others with the Xbox version that maybe do or does not have the sound issue where the audio crackles and gets all distorted as AI cars get near. Looking to see maybe their settings on both console or in-game and what their setup is specifically for those not having the issue in order to find the variables. Thanks

Hey guys! Fantastic video. Was looking for this kind of thing recently and no one else has done it. Do you think you could do a cheat sheet for the fine tuning aspect? I.e you mention ARB to move them higher and higher until it feels twitchy, but in terms of what number they are to each other I have no idea. I could start at 3 apart and then maybe you have a cheat sheet which says : if the car is oversteering on exit or you can’t get the power down : do this.

To Step 3: This is so difficult for me to find out witch setting is the fastest bcs im often playing ACC and there you can Set Toe, camber... For Each tyre and not the axle. So i could (for example on Brazil) the Front right Tire a little bit more camber for the Fast lefthander.

This is really a great video!!! Very helpful. Just one question: How do you think it is better to manage the sets of tires as they degrade while making changes to the set up? Because at one point, the grip isn't the same, and can affect how it's feel the driving.
@SimRacingSetups4 жыл бұрын
Great question. You can either run your setup process across all three practice sessions to utilise all tyre sets, or get to a point where you’re happy with your setup and restart the practice session so you have fresh tyres to continue making adjustments.

@rayvandenbosch24084 жыл бұрын
A great explanation of what each change feels like. The game does let you feel the difference in small changes. Just confirm increase or decrease off-throttle diff to assist low speed rotation?
@whatsnext54604 жыл бұрын
Ray van den Bosch should be increase. Locks the tyres more so they cant spin as freely and thus in a way “push” you around the corner
@rayvandenbosch24084 жыл бұрын
Working through Spain with your system and it is working. Methodical and you can see /feel the affect each change makes. Wish I knew this for F1 2018. Only just got 2020. Thanks for sharing the advice.
@rayvandenbosch24084 жыл бұрын
Well I adjusted pressures to get even heat but during race in Spain the front left wore very highly compared to right and left had lowest pressure. Is that a pressure imbalance or just the nature of the track?
@whatsnext54604 жыл бұрын
Ray van den Bosch will be nature of the track. Clockwise track so left tyre takes more of the weight. And the right handers are long and fast

Hey simracing setups finally my prayers have been answered for a video like this excellent guide really helpful now am in a league with f12020 tsrl tier 9 and so far done pretty decent came 7th 6th 8th and 4th in my china race but were having to do a re race because everyone disconnected from the lobbie 😞 but so far ive just gone into tts and nicked if you like peoples setup from there but i didnt know that tts was always 100% loaded like you said so thanks for pointing that out and am just wondering when you create a dry setup can you use that for wet? Because ive seen others like trl limitless if you watch him ive noticed hes used a dry set up before for a wet race ? Now i havent created any wet setups yet so would be helpful if you could show one for the wet too ? But gonna give this ago from now on because ive found so far my quali pace has been average lets say but been told i have good race pace

SimRacingSetups yeah i know you do and there very useful but am just wondering with me being new to league racing eventually i want to try this method so how can i get into a routine for that because i want to give it ago just not sure how to manage the time scale to prep before a raceweekend ?And should i stick to using trl limitless setups for dry and use your setups for the wet ?
@dsdanielcruz4 жыл бұрын
Regards for all the great setups!!! Top work. As you say in almost all your videos, and in this one also, these setups are for long races. If I want to use the same setup, in a multiplayer race for example of 5 laps, in your opinion what should I change?
@Ben-gb9qr4 жыл бұрын
Im not Sure if it hepls a lot but i would Set a little bit more toe out for a faster Turn-in.
@SimRacingSetups4 жыл бұрын
As Ben said, you can ultimately go more aggressive on your suspension geometry. And also slightly higher tyre pressures, and even increase the on throttle diff as long as the car doesn’t get too tail happy 👍🏻

You can change the front wing during your pit stop and adjust your on throttle diff whenever. Add more wing when it rains

I spend quite a while on each track. Generally I run through a full race weekend including practice sessions to create a good baseline setup.
@revirdkcalb4 жыл бұрын
13:41 I don't think this is true...The off-throttle, the lower you go, the better rotation through slow corners (where you are "off-throttle"), but you will have less traction, so higher chance of the rear stepping out during the corner and also when going back on-throttle. I thought you even said this in your first setup video about setups back when the game just came out. So, maybe a little mistake here? You can easily try this out at tracks with slow hairpins. If you out the off-throttle to 100% it will take more time and effort to get the car to go around the corner, whilst if you put it at 50% you get your car to rotate much faster but at a higher risk of losing the rear.
@petertosh56544 жыл бұрын
Huh!!! You have explained the max cambers the wrong way round. Max camber to the left?
@SimRacingSetups4 жыл бұрын
Its Codemasters poor wording, with the min and max and negative values. Moving left adds more negative camber, or increases the negative camber. So some people say max camber is left, while others right.
