So sad that this track doesn't exist anymore, would love to have visited it one day. The legendary Ayrton Senna was the last one to grab pole position there in 1989 with the other legend Nigel Mansell being the last winner. A historic track being demolished to make way for facilities that were used for one month and then never touched again. Sad.

They will rebuilt the track layout in a place nearby the old circuit here in Rio, it's estimated to be finished in 2027. The new track will be called Guaratiba Park Raceway

We know that this track was not adequate for F1 races anymore, but there was so many other categories that used it, they should have considered building the olympics buildings like in Sochi or something...

I'd love to see Rio back in F1 again! Have you ever heard of Gavea's old circuit (Circuito da Gavea) ? It was a street racetrack in the city of Rio de Janeiro where the first big races in the country started! If you get a mod of it, be sure to post! Do it with a Ferrari please! It's just phenomenal! The Olympic games in Rio were just a stupid event. Pleasing the rich investors instead of benefiting the people of Rio. This beautiful track unfortunately fell victim to the elitist shitshow.

@@master-kq3nw I don't think the new track in Rio will be built. At least not now. The president (from Rio) wants. He had support of the state governor and the mayor. The state governor was removed by the justice due to heavy corruption charges. The mayor that supported things wasn't re-elected. And the new mayor opposes the president and is halting the work, due to being on a forest area and stuff. If they ever build this, we have a major shitshow on
