F1 2020 Jarama Circuit | Carlos Sainz Onboard | Assetto Corsa

Here's an F1 onboard lap at Circuito del Jarama (Circuit of Jarama) in Spain.
This lap is driven in Assetto Corsa with Carlos Sainz in his F1 2020 McLaren MCL35 challenger.
This circuit has hosted the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix 9 times between 1968-1981.
The track is currently FIA Grade 2, but how nice would it be to see an F1 race here again?

Jarama was originally intended to have a much longer and flowing second leg, but the tight finances and need to get the circuit complete for its first races meant it ended up being a shorter and twistier affair than Hugenholtz had wanted.

I liked this race track. I would make a change in the middle sector to remove corners 7 and 8 and create a straight to have one more overtake point. It may be too short for an F1 but suitable for MotoGP. But I liked the layout of it. Great lap, great video!

Thank you Eduardo and Pham! I'm glad you're enjoying the videos and I'm glad the quality has been improving. The F1 layout used for the Spanish Grand Prix was slightly different, but I think this track suits today's cars a bit more. I do believe that with a few changes to the track and its layout, this circuit could get FIA Grade 1. I just want to see a Spanish Grand Prix anywhere else but Barcelona!

It looks like portimao was inspired by this design. The short flat-out bends before the slow corners, one side of the track behind completely straight, and the final corner is flat-out for extra momentum down the dtraight.

@@danibermudo6995 If you look at the description of his videos, it gives the name of the game he's playing. He's doing this on Assetto Corsa. Race Department is a great website to download mods for Assetto Corsa. Race Department has hundreds of thousands of different track and car mods, along with HUDs, telemetry data, you name it :)

Walls too close, track too narrow, boxes and facilities too small, bad access by car... And they built a golf course and houses around it so it will never get fixed because there's just no room for that kind of improvement. No F1 in Jarama anymore. I wish they could rebuild it somewhere else enlarging the straights, cause the layout is very interesting. A "mickey mouse track" as they called it in the 70s. Small, fun and a bit silly. A miniature version of Spa with just one somewhat decent straight. So small not even GT cars race there anymore. Just not big enough tfor a modern racecar. So sad, couse I've been attending to GT races for years and years there and for the fans is an absolute jewel. So many ups and downs and turns flowing into each other so that the drivers have different lines to choose from in the first half of the lap. So many battles.
