I think these cars will suit Seb well, they seem to have stable rear ends and a bit understeery, I hope we can see him having some great battles this year!

My new and improved theory is that F1 fans will reply to this comment exclaiming that I am wrong and that they have a full understanding of an F1 car’s aerodynamics all whilst having absolutely 0 understanding of physics… just a hunch

I just read a post or a comment today on the F1 subreddit, that the cars will actually be 4% quicker in the straights. Will be interesting to see if it turns out to be true

if its the mod i think it is these guys actually took the F1 2022 regulations into account in their modelling of this car, so it wont handle like any of the actual F1 2022 cars since of course noone knows how mercedes, ferrari, redbull, mclaren etc will have interpreted the rules but it is based on those same rules so as far as an assetto corsa mod goes some of the characteristics should translate over.
@vernracing22552 жыл бұрын
@RisottoDoppio All of assetto corsa is a mod basically
@mappleo31732 жыл бұрын
The last corner shows it best I think but the general pattern here seems to be sharp turn in and understeer mid corner until the car is settled. The mod can probably only really model the tire changes correctly and not the whole setup and aero changes but that’s also where one would expect this exact pattern to come from (with the whole smaller, stiffer sidewalls thing) I remember seeing a video on Alonso’s early driving style where he would steer more than necessary into a corner using Renaults super stable rear end to not oversteer in order to heat up the front tires on turn in to gain grip through the rest of the corner. I think the tire heating may be of a lesser role nowadays but adopting a driving style to really abuse that grip gain in turn in, assisted potentially by a rear end setup that won’t oversteer in that situation (the aero balance being inherently shifted backwards without the barge boards is helping here of course) might be viable. In comparison last season’s cars often seemed like they had to be pushed into a corner more harshly but also seemed to settle rather quickly once turning, unlike the behaviour demonstrated in this video
