@@niclaswilmsen5707 technically it isnt *harder*, but the ai have way too much traction which gives them impossible straightline speed and that makes them impossible to pass unless you deploy half your battery on one straight and divebomb them from three car lengths back

@@niclaswilmsen5707 the ai have the same straight line speed for the most part on all difficulties. The main difference is how much do they drive like grandpa in the corners. If I play on 60 I get freight trained on the Baku straight just as much as on 90. Difference is in sector 2 they have f3 aero

From what I've heard/seen on the steam community page, the reason the ai are so fast on the straights is because for some reason, the ai, no matter what car they or you are driving, weigh a certain percentage less than whatever car the player is driving (even your ai teammate in an identical car). This supposedly gives them the better exits and straight-line speed that we've seen. Not sure why that was implemented or why it hasn't been fixed, but that code piled on top of the new patch that overheats your tires and changed the handling model makes racing the ai way more difficult and just outright frustrating. It's gotten to the point where a lot of my friends and I have decided to not play the game until this gets fixed because it simply isn't as fun anymore to play casually... and I've seen posts from a lot of people claiming to do the same.

@@sirmounted8499 Funny enough, im at Hungary in my career mode, qualified on pole and thought id do the race next day. Patch hit, i update the game, start the race, get swamped and 2 seconds off the pace. Threw the towel in after a couple of laps as i couldnt be arsed, and cant sod about with car set up either, parc ferme. Might try whacking the settings down, not sure if i can at the mo, will see. I also read about gotta manage tyres more now as they just overheat.

Because of 1.06 patch, the tire pressure is ridiculous, simply put you have to use the lowest pressure in races otherwise your tires will overheat. You’ll reach like 107 at TT setups

I was at Silverstone in my my team car. It's pretty shit but has the Ferrari engine. I was chasing Magnussen for P6. I was using DRS, full overtake battery mode on fresh mediums with really low wings and low aero set up and I shit you not he was pulling on me even though he had no DRS. I had to dive bomb the hell out of him into the last chicane to get him. A few races later I timed it and I was losing 5 tenths on the small straight at Austria to Hamilton even though he had no DRS and his battery charging light was on. I was on full deployment and DRS and got a great run out of turn one. I don't mind them being fast overall, I enjoy the challenge but the fact is we can't race them properly like we see on TV. Also turning down to the AI means sure I will win but I still can't race them properly because I am way to fast for them in the corners and way to slow in the straights. Another issue I have is with qualifying, the only way to get pole is to get a massive tow on the straights. If you try and let them past on your out lap the AI just stop next to you and drive the same speed as you for the entire lap.....They will not pass you under any circumstances unless you go off the track. Last thing if it's a mixed weather qualifying you should give up as they will improve by a second on their last q3 lap even though it's raining more than it was on the first lap, whilst your losing 3 tenths a corner as you have worse traction in the wet. C'mon they need to fix this stuff. It's a $100 game.

@@lonekyoko What are you talking about? Codemasters are "investigating" it. A fucking modder fixed it within a week but it took Codemasters 3 weeks to even acknowledge the issue. Will probably take them another 4 weeks to roll out yet another broken patch for it. I would honestly love to see them lose their F1 game contract.
