Its crazy how unknown assetto corsa modders can make virtually perfect engine sounds, onboard and out of the car, yet EA with the much higher budget, and with annual revisions can't even come close.

EA/Codies practically have a monopoly on F1 due to the license, meaning there’s no competition for them so they don’t bother with things like this. Frontier’s F1 Manager 24 looks incredible however that’s a big niche and likely won’t appeal to casual fans as much as this game.

In my opinion, I've seen that you can't expect the slightest level of competence from EA in simply making a sound like real life, even with all the access facilities they have, they still keep inventing new car sounds every game completely out of the box ( at most close, still far from what is expected due to the ease and freedom it has with the F1 product), for the same engines as always and it never gets to the real point, it goes to my taste to say which one I liked the most and just like EA , screw reality, right? Anyway, I think F1 22 had all the flaws you'd expect from EA, but I LOVED the deeper sound of the car sounds in that game. In F1 23 and especially now in F1 24, this high-pitched sound (especially Ferrari that I honestly even took off my headphones and skipped to the next engine sound, very shrill) over time becomes sickening to hear.

You have to use the driver option in the audio settings for the onboards and for the exterior broadcast sound I think they did a pretty good job, it’s still not really in sync with the cars inputs but it does sound closer to what the cars do in real life

Feels like they have gone way over the top with the pitch of high revs, especially with Ferrari, like they are emphasizing the high revs but sounds very artificial. The downshifts are way too quiet. Feels like its gone backwards to last year and the ones before, like 22 was better overall also to me from memory. I don't know if its the limitations of the EGO engine, or their methods to record the audio irl. But the f2 sounds they nailed it first time (f1 2021). That's what I don't get.
