@RammingSpeed-lk8kk in real life your eyes look either side of the halo, and your brain ignores the halo like it ignores your own nose. It doesn’t look good on screen even with head tracking but in VR each eye has its own screen and the halo kinda just disappears. If you ever get the chance to play F1 in cockpit mode in VR, it’s the coolest sim racing experience ever.

after playing f1 2018, 2021, 22, & 23, I was excited to played this game. I was let down so bad that I dropped the franchise completely after a week of playing this game, even after the patches had released. I found the brakes to lock up any time I applied more than 25%, turning into corner without having to fight the car against understeer or oversteer, and accelerating to be very weird. The slip angle was also INSANE. There was also no sensation of “weight” or presence of slip force feedback in car with tells which is weird considering f1 22 felt like driving a semi with the amount of oversteer it had and f1 23 had pretty good slip force feedback. Everything else in the game was great but the driving experience on wheel was awful. I hope things have changed since then.

Its called a halo, its for protection incase of crashes, especially if the car has somehow turned upside down. Most F1 drivers themselves commented that they dont find it distracting and often dont see it when they're focused on driving. I personally dont find it distracting either when I get into a rhythm during the race.

Don't know much about F1 but for some reason the engine sounds seem off. I would think there would be a higher pitch whine to the engine. Am I wrong with that assessment?

I don't have iRacing so couldn't compare. But it feels decent to drive for me. There is some things that are bad, like the sounds and the AI.

I have iRacing, and you can't compare it to the iRacing F1 car at all. The feeling of F1 24 is very arcade like, even more than F1 23 imo. Unfortunately a step backwards, in my opinion. But it seems like it creates good league racing, tighter than before! If you like F1 23 you will probably like this years game aswell. The front end is a bit more sharp this year.

I love the graphics, animations and details, no complaints at all. However it doesn't look like he is travelling 300 kph, the feeling of driving those insane speeds is not conveyed, actually feels quite slow. Please feel to enlighten me if I am missing something 👌

In real life the sensation of speed is only amplified by how close things are to you. In racing, an open track doesn't convey the sensation of speed with objects, but rather wind noise tire noise and g forces. With an enclosed narrow track with walls on both sides, the sensation of speed is enhanced. This goes for simulators as well.

EA has to step up their game in the graphics side of things. Unless you had them turned way way down to get fast fps, the graphics look awful. The drivers in their cars look stupid, like their pasted in. Commentary isn't much different from the 21,22 and 23 season. It's like Madden football, their just calling it in to make money. Im not buying 24 if it's like this. Ill continue to play F! 23

If you open the game from steam it'll give you an option to open it normally or in vr mode, you can either use the air link which I found doesn't work for most games, so unfortunately you have to get the oculus data transferring cable that's like $80, but my assumption is that they're playing on a 3 monitor setup with an eye/head tracker

IRL the drivers bounce and shake, with the car, so their view of the circuit etc, is alright. If the game made the car shake and bounce, the player's vision wouldn't react fast enough, therefore he/she wouldn't see apexs, braking points, rear view etc. In the game the car remains static, and the environment would bounce. Frankly, it would be reeaalllyy bad lol
