F1 Circuit Zandvoort - Tecpro and safer barriers

I love to see how they married old fashioned gravel traps with modern asphalt runoffs and safety barriers where needed. Next year will be interesting to see for sure!

I think the ones in the last corner are SAFER barriers like the ones they use at Nascar ovals, not Tecpro. They are much stiffer and prepared for high speed side collitions, specifically designed for ovals and similar. Still, great video, I love watching how the circuit evolves!

Thx for the video again.. I wonder if they would have painted the new curbs if the event would have been on? Looks a bit dull now with just the grey.. Same reason why I like the red accents in the new barriers, it makes the track look more modern or fancy if you know what I mean..

The safer barrier and head and neck restraints have got to be two of the greatest saftey innovations to have ever been developed for motor racing, we've seen a number of horrible accidents where these two things have come into play that the drivers were able to walk away from.

Thank you again..... there is certainly a lot of work being done to make the track safe for speed. With the limited space I think they will need all of these safety barriers there is simply not enough gravel or ashphat off track to be effective. What about the big puddle on the corner of the pit complex has that been fixed.

Ik ben vast niet de enige die aan LEGO moet denken. Man, heb ik vroeger veel LEGO circuits gebouwd, in de tijd dat je er meer van maakte dan de afbeelding op de doos. Het circuit ziet er geweldig uit, ik ben alleen m'n favoriete plekkie tegenover de pits op het duin kwijt ... Ik hoop dat er enkele vaste tribunes in het duingebied komen, niet te groot, op strategische punten, al is het maar als schuilpunt voor een nare bui uit zee.

Ik zie dat er nu ook hekwerk is geplaatst bij de Arie Luyendijk bocht. Ik was dus net op tijd om nog met drone vlak over die barriers te vliegen en kan straks een video maken met day hekwerk 😉

I hope there is a tall crane deployed at the last banked corner, as well as other strategic spots. Digging a car out of the sand up the banking would be a real challenge for a JCB tractor type of recovery vehicle.

I don't like the use of SAFER there, there's no runoff at all... If after a crash one stays on track a T-Bone crash is highly likely. But I guess there was no other solution as I see that it is indeed difficult to construct something else. But it poses a risk there for sure. (But it is obviously better/safer for high speed crashes in that turn than it was before)

Top filmpje weer alleen in T14 staat geen tecpro barrier maar een saferbarrier is een muur voor de buiten muur met schuim blokken er tussen die de kracht op vangen bij impact. Zie je overal in amerika op de ovals.

The way things are going right now with COVID-19 in the Netherlands, this event will take place in 2021 no problem.. All doomsday scenarios have not materialized at all so far..

Removable grandstands will be placed on several places, weeks before each race. Lots of them, don't worry. The F1 race for may was sold out, with 105.000 visitors every day, over 300.000 for the whole 3 days, incl. qualification.
