The prototype of this rig was a great success, but the wooden frame had too much flex and movement. The motors were also not situated in the best position to offer the best mechanical advantage. Update V2.0 addressed these issues. The motor driver has also been updated from IBT2 to Sabertooth 2x32.

In my opinion you can not get a better immersive experience than VR. Combined with the motion, wind, and vibration simulation it's the closest thing to real life.

Great job! I see a lot of people saying wiper motors are better then actuators because they gave more speed and are quiet. But it’ll looks like they can’t pick up fine road detail etc… is this true?
@mikeyearly
@mikeyearly 2 жыл бұрын
With tuning they can pick up fine road detail, but I wouldn't advise it - wasting available axis assignment. Better to use a butt kicker or bass shaker.

Hello , the price for kit???
@mikeyearly
@mikeyearly 2 жыл бұрын
Not sure yet. Aiming for around the £2.5k-£3k mark. The more interest I get the larger the quantity of parts I can order which brings down the price to the consumer.
@matthewhannon2509
@matthewhannon2509 2 жыл бұрын
@@mikeyearly wow really?? Doesnt seem like you could compete in that price range with the new yaw2 already in preorder and the stuff dofreality has been selling for awhile now, both with more than 2 dof and significantly cheaper than that and more polished. I mean parts wise I cant see you being over 500 US (£375) another 3-3.5k US to "machine" and package it together for a kit seems a bit much. I think to get any traction a kit like that would need sell for around 1500 US (£1150)base with some options. Its a neat design, wish ya the best of luck
