F1 Ranking - Every Classified Last Place Finish by Drivers: 1950 - 2023

In this video we have made a review of every single classified last place finish by drivers from GP 1 - BRITAIN 1950 until GP 1082 - AUSTRALIA 2023 (the most recent GP at the time of creation).
For the avoidance of doubt: We are counting the driver who got the last official finishing position in the given GP, but were not classified as OUT/DNF. Drivers may still be awarded an official finish even if they finished a few laps down.

I was surprised to see some pretty significant names near the top but then I realized you need to balance that against the percentages. Even great drivers like Alonso have had some crappy cars over a long career. Of course there are some with fewer last place finishes but it's a huge percentage of their total. Even then it's hard to judge because some of them only ever got to drive crappy cars. I love the way you can see unexpected results appear over the entire history of the sport.

The fact that 3-time world champion Jack Brabham was top of the list for so long and even Juan Fangio and Jenson Button were well up there shows how the great drivers never give up and have been around long enough to finish enough races to get on the list. I mean, I can name every world champion since 1950 but I never heard of Ivor Bueb.

People who came last from 1950 to 1970 probably had a engine falier like maybe once every 15 races there was a crash at the start

Only drivers who died during their active time in the sport or had their careers cut short are indicated. We do not indicate people who retired and thereafter passed away.

Impressed by how long Jack Brabham was top here, especially given his self-launched team was actually successful and quite quickly. Somehow even Fitipaldi and actually slow drivers in established teams didn't beat him for ages.

I actaully recognized the fact during last year at about French GP time that Latifi haven't been classified last so far that year
