The sky opened up only an hour or so after fp2, so all that track evolution is gone for tomorrow! 😂

VCARB are looking surprisingly strong so far - Yuki really needs a solid result after 2 straight DNFs. As for Daniel, I think he should see out the rest of the season - but whether he actually will is a different matter. What're the odds Russell bins it again during the race?

I can't quite figure out where Vcarb came from, they weren't good at other low speed circuits and weren't good last race. So confused. 😵 As for Russel, Hamilton seems to think they won't make it to Q3. So maybe it won't matter if he bins it or not?

@@RacingBlind9 Probably just a perfect storm of circumstances that are working in VCARB's favour - as you say such a performance swing is very unusual. If it rains for Quali, then it's a crapshoot to a certain extent. Apparently it's gonna be a shootout between Russell and Antonelli next year, because securing Max for '26 is still Merc's priority.

@@RacingBlind9 Absolutely. Btw, did you see that the Renault CEO agreed to meet the employees at Viry regarding it's future in F1? The engineers are saying the '26 PU is very promising, meeting or exceeding all their performance targets as well as a 12% reduction in length.

@Jay_The_Cat yeah I saw that news. Pretty interesting, I think the big thing for renault right now is only having one team running their engines. Same problem honda had at mclaren. They need to have customers in order to have equal footing as the other engine suppliers. But maybe that will change when audi waters down the field a bit and even more so if Cadillac joins. I still think it's stupid for them to move to being a customer team...
