I have not heard of Post Malone till this F1 season. Just found out that he is very popular. Of the 2 groups of performers, I prefer the Kings of Leon. I bought a S$298 ticket to experience the Qualifying Races. There were 3 short races within 1 hr and I had to rush (run) from one viewpoint to the other. Many parts of the tracked are blocked by high canvas sheets and some Turns are not reachable for Walkabouts, probably due to safety and accessibility reasons. If viewership to this video is good, I might buy a S$400+ ticket for the 2 hr Final race next year. 2 hours would be sufficient for me to comfortably cover the race and enjoy the experience more. The walkabout stand you are at around the 2:00 minute mark seems perfect. Great view of the track, audible commentary and looks like the one big screen is showing the current standings? (Might be wrong though). I think I am going to opt for that one this year. How long before the qualifying starts would be a good time to reserve a reasonable spot on that stand there?

That Walkabout viewing platform is facing the exit from Pit lane. Good to be there an hour early. Half an hour before start, you can't even enter the platform as it will be fully packed with people. Another good spot will be at 6:45 of the video - Entry to Start/finish line. You can see the cars approaching and entering the final stretch. This walkabout platform is also packed with people. My 3rd choice will be at Orange@Empress Place. Ticket prices has increased a lot this year, so I will not go, unless there is a price drop. Fun fun my friend!

Thank you for your reply! I saw the viewing platform at 6:45 in another video and it seems to be the best view of the track for people without grandstand tickets. However that one seems to only have audio commentary, no visual standings so I think I would still prefer the one at 2:00. It's a bit difficult as a first timer to do proper research on this, so your video helped a lot! Hope you get a chance to go again next year.

Very interesting! I see you are using the phone as your camera. Has that replaced your usual camera, or just a temporary thing?

I needed to pan my camera very fast in order to catch the cars' fast movement. In the video you could see that I couldn't get the timing right for some of the shots. Some times my camera was faster than the cars, sometimes the cars were faster than my camera. My DJI pocket 2 couldn't do the fast panning motion so I didn't use it. Only my camera phone can do it while hand-held. This replacement is temporary. I also had to move very quickly from one location to another, so I had no time to reshoot some shots. The races also ended before I could finish the circuit. The 3 Qualifying races were completed in 1 hr. The circuit is 4km long so it's impossible to film the complete circuit in 1 hr. This Day 2 walkabout cost me S$298 which is a heavy investment. Next year I might go for the Day 3 (Final Day) walkabout which will cost more than S$400. The Finals is 2-hr which is sufficient time for the shooting. I hope this current video will be well received.

The F1 2023 has ended. Super Early Bird tickets for F1 2024 were sold out. The organisers are starting to take down all the lightings, structures and concrete barriers. This will probably take 2 months to clear everything.

@@cecilialeitet2794 It is not possible to walk where ever you like. You need to study the map and choose the various designated paths. Don't leave too early after the races. The concerts are wonderful. I will do another visit and record if the organisers bring down the exorbitant prices. Look like that's not going to happen. This is my 1st time attending an F1 race. The cars are really loud and the atmosphere is electrifying. A good experience for me. The concert was great though I don't know the performers. I estimate that 80% of attendees are visitors to Singapore and they all seem to enjoy the performances by Kings of Leon and Post Malone. I've never heard of Post Malone, but he seems to be very popular. He has tattoos all over his forehead and face.

actually, there are 3 qualifying sessions for each grand prix. 1st and 2nd qualifying sessions eliminate the slowest 5 drivers each in order to determine the final 10 places for the 3rd and final session. the person who clocks the fastest in the final qualifying session will grab the pole position spot for the next day's race.

It is safe to watch alone, especially if you are a vlogger, or photography enthusiast. Other wise it will be more enjoyable to go with friends. The cons: Premier walkabout allows you to walk in all sectors 1 to 4. You will probably take 2 to 3 hrs to walk the circuit. Many areas are restricted either due to safety reasons or due to geographic reasons. As a first timer, I found that my planned routes were not feasible. Now I know. For example, if you watched at the Empress Place sector and want to proceed on to the Esplanade drive, near the Merlion, you will have to go all the way to Stamford Road and turn into Esplanade Drive. That will take 20 to 30 mins of your time, depending on whether you brisk walk or run. Ticket prices are increasing every year. For 2024, the 3-day Premier Walkabout costs a whooping $598 and it's sold out now in 2023. Single day ticket is not available. This has priced me out of all future F1 races. The atmosphere is great and the after race party at the Padang is fantastic. Hope your favourite artistes or band will be performing.

I just saw that the organiser SG GP is now selling individual days Premier Walkabout tickets. Previously they only sold 3-day tickets. Prices have gone up Saturday $298 and Sunday $428. Saturday (qualifying) tickets are still affordable. You can go for it. Grandstands tickets from organiser are sold out. You need to buy from 3rd parties at high prices.

On Saturday, you have 2 races 1) Practice 3 17.30 to 18.30 (1 hr) 2) Qualifying 21.00 to 22.00 (1 hr) It takes you about 1.5 hrs to walk 1 round the circuit. So you either 1) run very fast 2) miss out the end of each of the 2 races or 3) Stay put at your favourite spots and enjoy the race. Nice walkabout viewing platforms, in my view are at 1) Pit exit, before Turn 1, 2) Empress Place and 3) just before entry to the pits - near Turn 18 So... you might want to go early to recce the walkabout route to familiarise yourself with where you can access and where you can't.

This year, the premier walkabout ticket costs more than S$800. You must be a real enthusiast to fork out the money. You should go early and try out the routes. Observe the F1 map very carefully. The routes will be exactly as shown. There are many places that you can't access or need to go around. For example, from Orange@Empress Place grandstand, you can't go to Esplanade Drive though it's very near. You have to walk to Stamford Road then U turn to Esplanade Bridge, taking a 20 mins detour. There are dedicated viewing platforms for walkabout ticket holders. For me personally, I like 2 walkabout viewing spots - near Orange@Empress Place and near Turn 18/Turn 19 just before approaching the Paddock. A walk around the whole F1 circuit will probably take you 1.5 hours. So be prepared. It's not a simple walk in the park!

They have increased Premier Walkabout ticket price. You have to buy the 3-day walkabout ticket for S$598. Free seating is only at certain places. Why do you want free seating if you want to walk around? Premier walkabout tickets on Singapore GP website is sold out. You need to buy from 3rd party websites at higher prices. Do your own checking as I could be wrong.

Hi I only have 2 options, Empress Grandstand in zone 4 or Premier Walkabout. Which one would you recommend? This will be my first f1 experience. Empress Place Grandstand (Orange@Empress Place) is a good location where you can get a good view of cars approaching and leaving. As in every grandstand, there will be big screens facing the audience so you can follow the race and know who is leading, who just crashed, why race is stopped etc. I am an active person and I like to smell the burning tyres, hear the roar of engines and walk to see the races from different viewpoints. There are dedicated platforms for Walkabout ticket holders along the route, but there are no screens to update you on the races. * To walk a whole loop will take you 1.5 hrs of more. * Some places along the route are blocked or not accessible due to safety reasons. Example - City Hall stretch is for Grandstands only. Walkabout folks can't go there. You can't go from Empress Place to Esplanade Drive directly. You need to walk to Stamford Road and turn into Esplanade Drive which is a 20 minute detour. * You don't know who is leading, why race is stopped etc... I prefer the Premier Walkabout. I can't advise you except to let you know the pros and cons. This year, the Premier Walkabout ticket price ballooned to S$800+. This is now out of my reach so I will be watching from the TV. How strictly do they implement these rules? What's the ideal time to arrive and which gate is the best to get through? Also, any essential items you would suggest we carry?

Woohoo, you've got Premier Walkabout ticket! I don't know about camera rules. The media folks use long lens and they wear something that identify them as from the media. Nearly every audience use mobile phones to film. However, I spotted 1 person using slightly long lens 06:51. Please check F1 Singapore website for information on long lens. Gate 2 would be the best to get through. The Sunday race starts at 8pm. You have to be there early. If you are a serious photographer you will want to recce the route before the race as many places that you like to go are blocked or not accessible. One walk around the circuit takes you more than 1.5 hrs. You also need to be at the Premier walkabout platform near the Pit Exit early before the race starts or you can't get onto the platform as it will be packed. I will go at 5pm if I go (I don't have ticket so won't go). I don't know about you. Good luck!

@@theflyer9920 hi. I bought it directly from the Singapore GP website. I bought the tickets two months ahead of the event. They have opened the 3 day grandstand tickets for the next season, but they already look sold out. I would say they might open the daily grandstand and walkabout tickets much closer to the event. I would suggest you keep checking their website regularly. Tickets are also available on the F1 website but those are only for grandstands.

The tickets are extremely expensive this year. Grandstand tickets cost above S$1000. Premier walkabout tickets cost above S$700. If you come with your 7 year old son, Grandstand tickets would be better. Go for it if you have the budget. It would be out of reach of ordinary Singaporeans. I will be watching from TV unless there's a sudden drop of price at the last moment. Sorry for the late reply as I just returned from vacation in Bangkok ☺️

I'm not sure. I think the meet and greet at zone 1 is only for fans who purchase Paddock Club or Champions Club packages at extremely high prices. You need to check this out. Last year, fans could meet their favourite drivers at various malls in the city on Wednesday and Thursday before the races days. With grandstand ticket, you will be rooted to one spot. There are large LED screens facing the grand stands, so you will know what is happening and can follow the races. Walkabout tickets are for people who like to watch the races from different vantage points. However, you will not know what is happening, why races are stopped, who is leading etc.

Which grandstand? The 2 facing the National Gallery? You can walkabout only within the Padang zone. Premier Walkabout tickets are raised to S$700 plus for 2024 season. Organisers are to money minded. No more walkabouts for me 😢
