Both Verstappen and Hamilton are hyper-aggressive when it comes down to title-relevant battles, but they're talented enough to make it work 99% of the time. Lewis's mistake in Silverstone was just an uncharacteristic misjudgement, not him or Max being any more or less aggressive than they always are.

Alonso had more to gain for team/mate but not much to lose by running his car wide. Lewis had a lot more to lose (championship lead) if they collided, thus why he would always backed out. The battle at Hungary is overblown really. lol especially considering it's a train track that's already almost impossible to overtake. Ask Vettel and all the other drivers that day who were stuck.

when did he say that , didnt you hear lewis after the race he said thats how driving should be and i couldnt agree more , lewis gave alonso space when he felt there would be contact and so did alonso , the fact that both of them werent overly agressive and knew the limit is truly exceptional they didnt make moves that could hinder the entire race of the other driver or even themselves.

Taking into account that the whole team was against Alonso because they were a British team supporting a British driver and also because the British always were racist towards the Spanish, I wouldn't buy your opinion. You canot deny Alonso's greatness in this. he was able to defend a vastly superior car which could do a second a lap quicker with ease. lewis was on fresher mediums, alonso on old hards. this is a true legend, and possibly one of the greatest up there with schumacher and senna.

I remember a race in Singapore where Alonso holded Vettel for most of the race. Fernando won by less than 3 tenths. Indeed he is one of the best defenders I’ve ever seen, he’s still got it!

Actually he did that the entire race. After the race he said that he allowed Vettel to be close to him on purpose, then Vettel couldn't cool the brakes and couldn't attack him. That race was Singapore 2010.

Alonso and Renault also said they were in conservation engine mode not because it was the second race for that engine, they found out before the race that one cylinder was not working and it was damaged but they didn't know how much. Then, they decided to take the risk and racing with this engine but with less power and not changing it and take the 10 grid positions penalty. In the KZbin F1 channel there is a video about this battle with Alonso reactions and he remembers the story again. Cheers!!

@@raizox6134 Nope. Alonso brought it all on himself. He wanted preferential treatment, that is, he wanted to be the number 1 driver in the team but Lewis was simply too quick. Hamilton outqualified him 6 poles to Alonso's 2. Lewis also had more podium finishes that's why the rookie beat the back-to-back world champion.
