Niki is so gracious, explaining how 'James got his act together.... thats why he became world champion', not his accident, not his Japanese gp retirement. Niki seems like a really good man with a good heart underneath the almost intimidating speed at which his brain functions - even as he gets old.

As the older statesman he's been great with the young drivers. Really great. Strongly suspect he's given Mercedes a lot of crap about strategy the last few years. Wolff hints at, to his credit has probably said "Damn Niki was right" a fair few times. Part of the reason Mercedes so strong now is this young team realised a lot of what the old bugger said still applies. RIP Niki a great Ambassador for racing, and ethics.
