two things that are missing in modern F1: competitive ferrari and brazilians
@elbaecc3 жыл бұрын
"Competitive Ferrari" is actually what turned me off F1. This was at the peak of Ferrari v MacLaren / Schumacher v Hakkinen rivalry. I remember the race where Barrichello was at #1 and was ordered by Ferrarri boses _on the very last lap_ to slow down and let Schumacher through so he wins the race and increases his chances of winning in the Driver's Championship versus Hakkinen. They stole Barichello's win from him and seeing the emotional hurt on the Brazilians face while Schumacher beamed and celebrated unabashedly...I was done! As much as Schumacher has achieved in his career, it has been on the back of other drivers' careers, like Barichello's, and I lost respect for him & Ferrari that day. Brazil 1991 was so emotional, the unbelievable sounds coming from Senna's radio always make some tears in my eyes. This kind of Senna's acting (and many other) make me feel about him a bit more than just a driver, but more than a warrior on the track. And after coming out of the car most importnant for Ayrton is to hug his father...

Rubens Barrichello was one of my favorite drivers back in the early 2000s and I was still kid at the time, next to Michael Schumacher and Mika Hakkinen. The guy's emotional victory shows that he made the impossible possible.

To understand the context of the number 3 (Barrichello's Victory), watch the number 2 (Senna's victory). Barrichello's victory context race and the all brazilians fans crying for him and remember Ayrton Senna, even Rubens.

So heartbraking when you lose your mother during a race weekend, bit at least they were able to meet her one last time😥 To then pull off a victory is just insane and I can not even imagine the emotions which Michael and Ralf went through on race day but had to hold them back and concentrate for the race

I got goosebumps rewatching Perez win there. And tears for the Schumacher mother. I remember watching that race like it was yesterday. 2000 Japan was what he worked so hard for and finally done it. Ferrari had finally come out on top after decades
@barisondude76733 жыл бұрын
Yes it brought back memories. That was the beginning of the Ferrari era. Those sweet engines. Schumacher winning knowing his mother just passed away. I believe she had fallen down the stairs. Those races were full of emotion, especially watching it live.I never expected him to perform on that level. His mother used to make sandwiches at the go kart track. And always wanted him to be there racing and winning. So it's the best think he could do for her memory.
