same here. It just is filled with emotion. All the attempts, then finally winning home race was greatest win for his career for sure. Not even gearbox and rain together, stopped Senna. two things that are missing in modern F1: competitive ferrari and brazilians
@elbaecc
@elbaecc 3 жыл бұрын
"Competitive Ferrari" is actually what turned me off F1. This was at the peak of Ferrari v MacLaren / Schumacher v Hakkinen rivalry. I remember the race where Barrichello was at #1 and was ordered by Ferrarri boses _on the very last lap_ to slow down and let Schumacher through so he wins the race and increases his chances of winning in the Driver's Championship versus Hakkinen. They stole Barichello's win from him and seeing the emotional hurt on the Brazilians face while Schumacher beamed and celebrated unabashedly...I was done! As much as Schumacher has achieved in his career, it has been on the back of other drivers' careers, like Barichello's, and I lost respect for him & Ferrari that day. Haven't saw F1 with the same amount of zeal and interest after that.

That Senna victory will always be my favorite. Senna worked so hard and finally achieved it on home territory. Not even rain or a messed up gearbox could stop him. The extra push of power after being so drained to get the trophy up was so awesome. His radio clip after the win of him screaming in joy and excitment gets me emotional everytime. Senna was an all-around amazing guy. His actions and character speak volumes. He is missed so much.

The only reason to Senna 1991 wont be in number 1 here, is because he was from Brazil and not for a country from Europe. I imagine how frustating is to F1 people see that the most amazing moment of the sports is made by South/North American people and not for a European guy.

Yes it brought back memories. That was the beginning of the Ferrari era. Those sweet engines. Schumacher winning knowing his mother just passed away. I believe she had fallen down the stairs. Those races were full of emotion, especially watching it live.I never expected him to perform on that level. His mother used to make sandwiches at the go kart track. And always wanted him to be there racing and winning. So it's the best think he could do for her memory.
