@NietsNeroche7 жыл бұрын
Mind that the next turn was a left though, without the speed avantage he has gained from cutting he would never be able to go around the outside Even if he could have overtaken him easely, he should've done it legal regardless Would have liked to see him get 3rd though, just a couple corners too short
@PbPomper7 жыл бұрын
It happened to a lot of other drivers as well. The consistency is once again terrible! Also, he could have passed him easily by going a bit less to the inside of the corner. but he also had to avoid a collision with Kimi. Adding to that: after the Mexico GP 2016, where Max was also taken from the podium, the stewards and the teams had an agreement that a diver should ALWAYS get a chance to defend himself before the stewards. the FIA is not even playing by their own rules! Disgrace for the sport!
@raggandb7 жыл бұрын
How you want to defend that, when you can clearly see everything on the tape? It's not like Kimi forced him to cut that corner...
@squeakybunny27767 жыл бұрын
raggandb well he didn't leave him much room either did he. He initially steered in. He went steered left at the last moment again but by then max had already decided to cut the corner to prevent them from crashing, which, in my mind is a justifiable reason and so according to their own rules max shouldn't have been penalized.

They should take a serious look at the stewarding and how it's affecting the race, at least give some time to properly review the footage and discuss with the team when it literally means the difference between a podium or not - no one had anything else to do while waiting for the ceremonies. And as for the video footage I think Max reacted to Kimi turning in slightly mid corner and cut the corner in order to avoid what he thought would be a collision, but there's no way they could make a rational decision in the 2 minutes it took them. If it was for like 10th place they wouldn't even have bothered reviewing the pass or penalizing, it's a shame cause it ruined a great race.

From someone who watches both German and British TV: I can assure you that these British commentators showcase a much more balanced and equal level of enthusiasm, raising their voices as loudly for a non-British driver as for a Brit, whereas the German commentator(s) (RTL) completely lost his/their sh*t upon Vettel's overtaking at the start but who later could not care less when Ham got him back and won the race. Trust me, these two German commentators do not miss a chance to denigrate Hamilton (or rather his lifestyle as his driving is impeccable)...so you're way better off with what you have

Hi, dear people at Liberty. First of all I want to compliment the great channel that you guys built up so fast with all the great content that you release. But today I have to admit that I'm shook. The whole Max on Kimi maneuver started a few corners ahead of the "move" that is displayed in the video. Max's build-up in the previous corners was especially crucial in that moment and you simply ignored it and prefer filling the gaps with B-roll from the pits.. Ultimately this video is about race highlights, therefore try to give the viewer some context, regarding the "bigger picture" of some overtakes, aswell.

What's wrong with that off-track rule? On a different part of the track, everyone went off and gained an advantage. That Max #offtrackgate is a complete joke like they did this political shit with Senna/Prost in Suzuka or Schumacher as a young driver.
@dylangittinger73517 жыл бұрын
Forcing someone wide and cutting for a clear overtake is different.
@SimonAgterhuis7 жыл бұрын
The rule states that if 'drivers gain an advantage by going off-track they should be penalized'. By being forced wide Bottas was able to maintain his position two times, which means that the rule applies here. The rule doesnt allow for relative advantage, every advantage is exactly the same. Also if it was indeed the case that Bottas was forced of, Ricciardo should be penalized for that. There should however be no discussion about whether all of the other drivers that went off track should be penalized. Vettel got ahead of Hamilton in the first turn, but if he would have gone slower he may not have been able to do that, altough he would have stayed on the track. Same goes for when Sainz went off track while overtaking Perez. If he had gone slower he may have been able to take that turn correctly, but he would not have overtaken Perez.

How does Bottas get pushed off the road and stay in front multiple times without being penalised?

the stewart just care about the show they do what suit them if they could they would penelize hamilton for anything just to make vettel closer and keep the show on
@tylbi13157 жыл бұрын
Because that's different it happened at T1 side by side and Bottas was the one defending
@flavoredsnacks99797 жыл бұрын
Because if you run wide, you would go further and therefore not gain an advantage. BOT was also getting squeezed wide.

Everything in F1 is ultra clean with no rough edges. And when a driver wins he sounds like he's just had a really successful business meeting! Tiniest bit of tension on the podium where it's very clear the leading drivers don't really like each other but otherwise pretty tame fare. By the way, Sebastian Fettle??

Hamilton smashes Bottas every race and Bottas is always fighting in the top eight while Hamilton is 20 seconds ahead of him every race, and people still say that Hamilton only wins because of his car hmmmmmm F1 fan logic I guess. If it was all the car then Bottas would be getting second every race and would have won more than two races early in the season, now let's see everyone try to tell me that Lewis has a better or different car than Bottas lol.
@InsanePanda087 жыл бұрын
I dont think that's the case, people are not saying he's not a good driver infact he's one of the three best drivers on the grid along with alonso and vettle but what people mean when they say he's winning just because of his car i think they are referring to the scenario were if lewis vettle and alonso were given the same car aka the merc would lewis be as dominant as he is right now granted in terms of outright quali pace i think lewis is still better than the other two but in terms of race craft i think alonso is the best among the three and granted this year ferrari did have a very competitive car but mercs are a bit better and given how close these guys are in ability that little bit of an advantage is enough for lewis to come out on top at least that's what i think
@siheath36487 жыл бұрын
I continually read people harp on about how Alonso's race craft is better than Hamilton's yet I have yet to read anything that actually backs this up, it just seems to be something people say. When they were team mates in 2007 Hamilton finished with the same points, wins and podiums as Alonso and out qualified him by quite a margin, made even more remarkable by the fact it was Hamilton's rookie F1 season. Everyone that knows anything about F1 knows it's virtually all car but they had the same car that season, so where was this better race craft? whatever that actually is...

nomoreclickbait please The same can be said for Raikkonen in the Ferrari. What we have here are two of the best drivers of this decade with two very similar cars with two underperforming teammates.
@joekidd22917 жыл бұрын
nomoreclickbait please So by that logic Nico Rosberg is actually a good F1 driver and a deserved world champion? He put his car on pole and won many races. It just happened alot more after F1 switched to hybrids.

Joe Kidd He is a good driver. He is just not liked for his borring, cringy presonality and his reputation has been ruined by his shit career before joining mercedes.

Yes because Verstappen forced him off. If forcing another driver off is a penalty then why didn't Max get one (not saying he should've)? When a driver overtakes they make sure they stay on track. If the driver trying to defend goes off because the other driver forced him off, he has every right to come back on track ahead.
