Uhm no, most parts are Mercedes. He clearly said it in the video: front/rear suspensions and gearbox from the 2020 Merc. Plus the nose & wing carry over from the 2020 RP which is a 2019 Merc. The reason they could change the chassis is because they didn't have to spend tokens on those other parts.

@@setokaiba2351 Completely different car philosophy on the Aston. It follows the front limited design of the Mercedes, and was the style with which Vettel won all his world championships. The Ferrari went down a rear limited setup which he didn’t agree with at all. He also didn’t want to give Ferrari anything after they let him go. He even sold his entire Ferrari road car collection last month, as he doesn’t want to represent them in any way. He’s still the only driver, bar Rosberg who has been able to take the fight to Lewis since 2014... Bottas had never truly been a championship contender, and neither has Max.

I mean, the chassis of the mcl35M hasn't really changed much, if you see, cos the crash structure, survival cell mount, and floor are kinda the main parts of the chassis, other than the actual framework, and also I think all the did was reconfigure their monocoque and sidepods, not the actual chassis itself... True. But the rear suspension is significant. Last year the heating/stiffness issue with the Haas chassis made the car handling fade as it warmed up, according to Grosjean. If the monocoque is all that defines a chassis, then yeah, the McLaren didn't change, but since the power unit is a stressed member of the chassis, the car is really 2 major parts, the body/aero, and the chassis/power train. But that also comes from the days when everything it takes to get it to roll on wheels is part of the chassis... The term "rolling chassis" might be non-existent these days.

@@vancel35 this makes sense too, cos nonews source has mentioned chassis anywhere, but I see monocoque, driver cell, etc terms being used, so i suspect that they may have made modifications to the chassis like any other teams, but not enough to call it a new chassis, unlike the aston, which basically uses so many merc parts that it has the ability to upgrade its chassis properly to call it new... interesting

@@vancel35 yeah usually teams focus on chassis/powertrain upgrades as one, but there are teams in the past who've gone with different combinations too like aero/chassis, which includes suspension arms, sidepods, monocoque, etc. Also, I looked up some definitions and references of an f1 chassis, they all seem to point out the suicide cell as the chassis, and no other part. the safety structure is considered the "chassis", which is like the front half of grosjeans crash car. Its weird, cos we think chassis as something different, but definition says something else
