Thanks for making this video. I have a ‘67 with ‘78 spindles and brakes that I’m not happy with, moves the wheels out too wide. A couple of things I’d like to point out, your spindle problem, someone may have swapped out an F250 spindle at some point. It used a bigger bearing. Your grease seals need to be driven all the way into the rotors, prior to being put on the spindles. If you don’t, the seal won’t ride on the machined surface and will get tore up.
@willfrancone39082 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I'll look back at the wildwood instructions on that. I think the directions said to put the seal on the spindle. I think the spindle is from a f250.

@@willfrancone3908 Your welcome. In general, wheel grease seals are always driven in flush with the rotor/ hub. You can tap them in with a hammer and a block of wood in a pinch, but its really best to use a seal driver kit. They aren’t expensive and everyone should own one.. I would also love to know, did the new brakes move the wheels out wider than before?
@willfrancone39082 жыл бұрын
No, it didn't change the width at all. The only real way the change that would be to do a full custom suspension rebuild with narrower i-beams.
@hvspeed61022 жыл бұрын
@@willfrancone3908 Good. That’s what I was hoping for. I put dropped I beams and ‘78 brakes and spindles on my ‘67. This was done many years ago, when there were no kits available. The ‘’73-78 trucks are wider, and the conversion puts the wheels farther apart. So I was hoping this kit, would move the wheels back to the original location, sounds like it will. Thanks.

What brake booster/valve did you use or recommend? I’m actually in the process of picking up same Disc Brakes from Wilwood. Thanks!
@js-cw5uv2 жыл бұрын
Do you have a video of the rear as well
@AnnoyedCoastalBeach-nl4tm5 ай бұрын
Maybe a f250 spindle, the seal should be tapped into the back of the rotor
@mredmister30142 жыл бұрын
Great work. Did you replace the wiring harness on the truck too? I’m just getting into my F250 68 ranger and will definitely do brakes like these
@willfrancone39082 жыл бұрын
I didn't replace the harness, I just added to it. Relays for the headlights

Did you have issues with the brake lines getting into the springs? What was the part number for the brake line kit?
@eastint Жыл бұрын
Nice work but I’m pretty sure the calipers are on the wrong side of the rotors FYI.
@BlueTx68F10010 ай бұрын
He has them on correctly. On the F100 you can’t put them on the rear because they will hit the steering components. Tie rods run through the radius arms.
@BlueTx68F10010 ай бұрын
Did you use the stock brake line brackets where the braided lines attach to the frame?
@willfrancone390810 ай бұрын
Yep, stock brackets. Hoses came with new C clips too
@juanaguirre8732 Жыл бұрын
I have to ask, what side to the calipers go on? Cab side or front bumper side?
@willfrancone3908 Жыл бұрын
The way I did in the video is correct.

did you buy this break kit directly of willwood? this is a very nice kit. I have a 67 f250 that i want to convert the front into disc brakes.
@willfrancone39082 жыл бұрын
I bought it from summit racing, it was few hundred dollars cheaper.
@GrandStang2 жыл бұрын
I’m curious, if you had to get replacement rotors and/or pads, do you have to go through Wilwood or are they generic enough where you can pick them up at any parts store?
@willfrancone39082 жыл бұрын
Im not sure. I would probably go through wilwood anyway.
@ondaislandkustomzpaint49402 жыл бұрын
Can you alter the bolt pattern with this kit to I see the rotor has other lug holes
@willfrancone39082 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can have 5x4.5 or 5x5.5
@65165452 жыл бұрын
Quick question whenever you have to replace the rotors again will you have to get them from wilwood or can you buy rotors for a 73 to 78 pickup
@willfrancone39082 жыл бұрын
Probably would have to get them from wilwood..
@StockCarGuy2 жыл бұрын
can you do a conversion on the rear too?
@willfrancone39082 жыл бұрын
You can, just expensive and not really necessary
@DJlokoShred2 жыл бұрын
Would it be the same for a 66 250?

Where did you get the lines from? Currently doing this swap on my 67 f100

Amazon, they are also on summit racing.

Hey how much of an improvement did these give you? I have a 69 f100 I just ordered the wildwood kit for. Also have a brake booster kit coming too.
@willfrancone39082 жыл бұрын
Big difference. Night and day. Just have to adjust the proportioning valve a bit until it feels the way you want. But it could also work without any adjustments

Great project and definitely a good truck. I hope no bastard hits you and destroys all your hard work and sacrifice. Remember FORD never took government money (from us the taxpayers), GM and Chrysler did. Therefore, Ford is now forced to compete with two government subsided entities, all courtesy of 'bite me's' daddy, aka 'Odumbass'. LET'S GO BRANDON!
