F14 Tomcats VS Su-22 fitters！1981 Gulf of Sidra Incident Animation & Documentary

In 1981, the Libyan government claimed ownership of the Gulf of Sidra in the Mediterranean Sea. U.S. President Reagan ordered the U.S. Navy to conduct freedom of navigation missions in the Gulf of Sidra. On August 19, a clash of fighter jets between the two sides broke out, culminating in the shooting down of two Libyan Air Force su22 fighter jets by U.S. Navy F14 fighter jets, which was the Gulf of Sidra incident.
This incident was borrowed from the famous movie topgun, which became a real-world topgun battle.

@@siouxperb5570 SU-22 pilot (belgasem amseek) shot n atoll missle from close distance on Hank's F14 Which leads to explosion then Other F14s shot down the SU-22s Anyway USA says that there is no f14 has been damaged and the missile missed its target Even after they found the wreckage and rescued the pilots and announced that one f14 has shot and we continue with the old American habits

@@oth9manothman47 That is incorrect. no F-14s were shot down or damaged in the incident. In fact, Kleeman was so wound up on adrenaline, he Boltered 3 times trying to trap back aboard the carrier. Couldn't have done that if he were shot down, as you claim. The Atoll is a rear aspect missile. There was virtually no chance of hitting the target when fired from head on.
