Those quick taps, your asking for trouble, using water tight connectors on LED light cables, then intrusively taping into what looks like the side marker lights with a quick tap that penetrates the insulation, breaks strands of wire and leaves an open source for corrosion, I plan on installing this type of lights but will either tap into an existing fused lighting circuit or create my own depending on the current draw of these lights.

Congrats on 8k. I don’t like those connectors either, especially on the outside. But I’m also up in Michigan where we have all the salt that corrodes the wiring. I love the Ford emblem on the grill!

Thank you! I'm planning a video on helping to prevent rust on suspension, frame etc... As a Michiganite you're the utmost authority. Any tips or recommendations for treating the undercarriage?

I don’t really do much to mine and there is plenty of rust to show for it. Having the 7.3 it naturally applies it’s own rust preventative to the underside of my truck. Lol. You should check out Mustie1’s videos. He is from the New England area and he does apply oil to the bottom of his vehicles. Not sure that you could get away with this where you are though. I believe he started with a fluid film kit but now he just sprays some bar oil to the bottom. Then he likes to drive down some dirt roads to get a nice coating of dust on the oil to keep it in place. It makes the vehicle messy when you have to work on it, but it does help keep the salt away up here.

I've moved away from California to a much more "relaxed" state now 😁

Curious, how these are holding up after A year. Wanting these because the bracket circle lights not only look annoying to install but not the best looking.

How are these holding up? I got the bar style kind now with the round leds...basically the earlier kit you installed. But im contemplating changing to this. The spacing of the lights on the Raptors is farther apart in my opinion than the bar style kit has. However I have the thick 3 bar "XL" grille even though its the XLT Grille in Chrome. So unfortunately it looks less like a raptor as the top mounting point is much lower than the 5 bar grille. This style kit would bring them up higher and out in the forefront......the bracket kit mounts the lights behind the grille and hang down lower.

This kit is still hoping up strong and I still love it. Highly recommended.

@@TruckStuff1 Would you say these are brighter than the Custom Auto Works kit you installed earlier?
@asdaven13 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately my kit only lasted a year. Moisture got into the LEDs and they started flickering. Just outside of the warranty. Looks like somebody tried to seal the LEDs up with Silicone by hand and call them IP68. Going back to the Custom Auto Works

What a mess. I had a four-light bar from Stage 3 for my 2018 that I just traded for a 2021. It was one solid bar, snapped right into place in five minutes, connected ONE wire with a posi-tap and that was it. Done. I'll wait for them or someone else to make the same for the 21.

I've had that style as well. However I prefer this rectangular style led and this was the only one available like this at the time.

Can you hook up to drivers side as my lights I have to go underneath to get at 2020 f150 and passenger side a lot harder

Yep sure can.

Absolutely hate those type connectors. Wish these companies would use a simple plug and play method instead of piercing wire all the time. The raptor style lights i installed on my 2018 was just a simple plug and play. No splicing wires and routing ground connections.

I agree! Oem style connectors aren't that much more expensive.
