for the cover of the rump you might look into balsawood these are used in modelbuilding if you wet them they are very flexible and once they dry they hold the shape you wet pressed them to the frame

thanks for the tip! I've used balsa in the past, I'm just not sure if I can find big enough panels to cover up the whole side console but I'll look into it

My plane "cockpit" is Meta Quest 3, it takes much less space and covers many variety of diffrent planes:)

Appreciate you posting the F-16 update. This is exactly what I’m looking for. You have inspired me to build the same thing! Twist, I want to rig it out to work with both DCS and BMS. That may require dual arduions, one DCS bios, and one for BMS IO. I want to be able to switch systems without reprogramming. I think it can be done.

Outstanding. I am thinking about stepping into moving from my TrakRacer f16 cockpit, into a full cockpit. Invectus came up. Are you using your laser cutter to cut acrylic as well? If so - any comments on what to look for? Thanks for sharing all of this!

Before purchasing a large quantity of acrylic, get some samples and make a full mock panel and validate the acrylic 1) cuts okay on your laser and most importantly 2) works with back lighting. I purchased a lot of acrylic without doing that, asked for "Opal" and "80% White" and got exactly that, but half of the White acrylic was 100% White and barely passes any light through, and you can't tell at a glance the difference until you shine light through.

thanks a lot! Yes I use my co2 laser (30w) to cut the acrylic used in my panels. Definitely do a couple of test runs with yours to see if you're happy with it. I had better results with cast acrylic vs extruded acrylic

Can the arduino mega directly light all the caution panel lights at the same time? What about amp limits?
