F1x Custom Fallkniven @thetopicala

David sent me his brand new Fallkniven, Fällkniven F1x knife. He chose grenadil wood from my storage and asked if I would add there red spacer material.
African blackwood, Grenadil wood is dense yet nice to sand very stabil wood for knife scales.

Do you use other materials for scales? - I like the look of wood but I usually prefer micarta scales for durability reasons. I would be interested in changing my f1x scales as well.

I just fulfill my client‘s wishes. One of my latest works was using micarta (for the first time) for client‘s wish and it was just positive experience!

I’m going to do something like this soon to my s1xb but I was wondering how I would not scratch off the black coating when sanding. Do you have any ideas?

Hey, thanks for asking. I am on to same issue at the moment. Either you do shape loosen scales and attach them like the original scales or then do it like I have desided to do: glue the wooden scales with new brass rivets and sand and loose coating and finally either let the edges shine or try to gunblu edges. ???
