F20 B47 turbo change

Please tell me how did you place the gas kits, the one that it’s between the turbo and the catalytic which side is to the turbo? Many thanks

I have the same issue on my car. I dont mind about the turbo and the job replacing it. Im only worried if any metal gets into my engine… Hopefully it shatters to million pieces before it heads to the combustion chamber. Car works great btw

I couldn't find anything in the cooler, so it was thought that a piece of ice broke the turbo.

How did you get the turbo on the bracket? And also keep the gaskets attached?

About only 105000km. Probably in the winter the condensate water in the EGR pipe froze and a piece of ice flew into the turbo.

@@madebytasa6989 Aah right, I read something about this. Some people in cold climates mentioned installing the N47 air intake, should fit the same and has less baffles that can collect water. The baffles are supposedly to reduce noise, but they noticed no/little difference

Hi, did you put anything special to lubricate the turbo before the first start? Did you crank the engine by removing the fuel pump fuse or anything like that? Thanks!

Hi, I just dripped oil into the turbo oil channel before installation.

Did you got fault codes for aftercat oxygensensor because of this turbo problem?

why did you not prime the new turbo with oil before running the car?

Oil was put in the turbo. So far it is working well.

hey i have bmw 116d f20 2012 and uts started making whistle sound and i have to replace my turbo. Can you suggest me a good turbo.

HI nice job, only thing is how did you get the turbo to line up. every time i get everything on it still blows out where turbo and manifold connects. well top connection. any help please

At first I tightened everything gently and then I tightened it all the way. and got OK

No smoking and did not eat oil. Just a small whistle under the hood
