F4U Corsair Joins Navy Growlers for Aerial Photo Shoot

Some behind-the-scenes from a photo shoot I was honored to fly with the U.S. Navy Growler Legacy Team at EAA Oshkosh in July, 2021. The two E/A-18G Growler jets from Electronic Attack Squadron 129 (VAQ-129), also known as the VIKINGS, joined my friend Jim Tobul in his WWII-era F4U-4 Corsair 'Korean War Hero' for a sunset Navy Legacy photo shoot, bringing the different generations of naval aviation history together and keeping ties to the Navy's proud heritage alive and viable.

I had met Jim's Dad a few times before he perished in that plane. Was shocked when it happened but I'm glad Jim got it back together and is carrying on in his father's footsteps. Always loved that bird

@@MikeKillian that would be great! I was just a kid when he passed. My Dad always booked Joe for the Akron Airshow. I was pretty saddened when I happened and then amazed to the see JT tail markings flying again.
