I figure your talking about the sounds each made, but it must be said that the Corsair would absolutely annihilate a Stuka. Any allied fighter during WWII would, actually. A stuka could only be used if the Germans had full control of the airspace. They tried using them during the battle of britain, but quickly found out they were too slow and useless and pulled them from the battle before they were all shot down.
@samsarex431811 ай бұрын
@@C77-C77 yes I was preferring to the sounds they made and I do agree that the Corsair could absolutely annihilate a Stuka in a dogfight the Stuka was just a bomber and that's it because if it got into a dogfight with almost anything it was basically screwed unless something like a bf-109 or a fw-190 was with it
@C77-C7711 ай бұрын
@@samsarex4318 I figure thats what you meant. Ya, the Stuka was a bomber, but that didn't stop Goring from using it in situations it didn't belong in. lol not the brightest dude. I def think a Corsair would take out a 109 or 190 too. Too bad they never faced off. The US had a bunch of badass planes, but they pretty much stuck with the P-40, P-51, and P-47 in europe. Most of the planes in inventory saw time in the Pacific. The Corsair is def my fave warbird, but I would have loved to have seen the Bearcat in combat, what an absolute beast...too bad the war was over before they got it to the pacific. It was on it's way though, just missed.

It was my understanding that it's the superchargers that create that sound.
@rsa-runwaysafetyarea19159 ай бұрын
yes, In order to keep the Corsair as aerodynamically clean as possible, designers made sure there was nothing protruding into the surrounding air to produce additional drag. In addition to the innovative “bent-wing” design, the intake for the aircraft’s turbo-supercharger, intercooler and oil cooler were located in slots in the inboard leading edges of the wings. Air running through those slots at high speeds gave the aircraft a very distinctive sound.

@@jacksondevine3870 no at the end of the war nothing really could compare to the corsair. It was kind of insane at everything. Only spitfires with full wings could out turn them at medium altitude. In medium speeds corsairs could smoke zeros in turn fights. The Corsair was easily the fourth fastest fighter of the war after the me 163, me 262, and p47m. Only post war planes could really match the raw performance of the F4U-4 and then the U.S. came out with the F4U-5
