I think dude was done after Brawl Out, “talked” with Triple H at that RAW episode, and was hell bent from that point on to push Tony’s buttons until he got out of his contract. Question at 23:20, that should Tony have kept Punk? I think the better question is, should situation have went that far in the first place that people in back are working against the guy who The Boss wants to keep and it running the 2nd show? The fact backstage is so toxic that people can take shots at the top guy on camera is more telling than what should've been done with Punk. Meanwhile, the segment featuring Punk gained 341,000 total viewers over the previous quarter, thanks Jack Perry.

Tony takes a HUGE chunk of the blame. If you listen to the interview Tony did prior to Brawl Out, Dave kept asking (leading more towards the negative) if it was a good idea to have all this real life heat between wrestlers (Punk & Page) and Tony kept insisting that wrestling history has shown it can be beneficial by sparking interest. That was an incredible miscalculation on Tony’s part.

I think he knows differently to the words that come out of his mouth and just lies to create a false narrative about AEW. Maybe it is because Tony Khan is paying him, maybe it is just because they get inside access to AEW and fed news to put out in his newsletter but I don't believe he doesn't know better. The other option is that he has early dementia - from some things he says I lean towards him having dementia, like him saying Orange Cassidy is a good and respected worker, I mean that is bordering on complete insanity. Orange botches every move, his strikes miss by at least a foot, he is like Bernie from weekend at Bernies - no personality and needs to be carried.
