FAB makes great stuff. This looks really nice. I have a nirinco paratrooper. Bet it would look bad ass. I like the way my rifle is now in its original configuration. Very lightweight and small. I would probably stick with what I have and keep it original. I can totally get why this is a cool option.

I have a norico paratrooper as well. I put a fab chassis on it and I love it. Really helps modernize the sks without making it look bubba'd at all.

This is the first aftermarket stock for the SKS that I like. Don't liked any of them until I saw this video, not that I was looking. Now, I want to find a trashed stock SKS lol.

Right on, it really is a good stock. I was never a fan of the tapco tactical or promag stocks, but this one actually seems to flow and is very attractively functional.

@@ZRUSOutdoorsChannel looking at adding a scope for mine. I noticed you hinted at one in the video. Did you ever end up experimenting with it? If so what scope do you recommend? Maybe make a video about it? Also the weight difference between a stock wood sks vs the fab defense. Things to consider. Keep up the good videos.

@@BruceWayne-ii1mx unfortunately I have not been able to scope an SKS just yet. I can’t seem to agree with most bolt on options enough to go go any. The Choate drill and tap method would be the preferred choice, but also the most skill involved. As for the fab weight and the factory wood, the fab weighs more but is fairly balanced, so it isn’t too noticeable. However, any weight is more weight.

I'm not a purist at all but I have had many SKS' over the last 20 years and I have yet to find any decent aftermarket accessories for them. Not it mention that anymore by the time you buy an SKS and a stock for it you can get a decent AR-15 and if you wait a bit you might be able get an AK for that price again. So while I'm usually all for modding guns the SKS just doesn't lend itself well to it. They're not dirt cheap anymore and I've been seriously underwhelmed by everything I've seen offered for them.

I actually like the way this one looks and I happen to have bought mine with a detachable magazine sadly the person I bought it from didn't have the old box magazine or the bayonet anymore so it wasn't entirely original but I'm not complaining it originally came with a 30-round steel mag but I had to get rid of that damn thing it had too much of a profile to hang up on shit so I found a little 20 round mag in a pawn shop magazine bin and has been reliable ever since I bought it.

I’ve got the center balance system bullpup pug 3 for an sks and I took it off after I shot with it a few times. It kept a good zero but the modified duckbill mags would not cycle properly and I could not use the original 10 rounder on it with the bullpup stock. Really like this fab defense stock though.

I want to change to this chassis, and I think it beats archangel from everything I have watch and read, WITH THE EXCEPTION of the magazines. FAB does not sell high capacity magazines after modification has been made with their platform. Whereas Archangel LVX Magazine with Lever Release for SKS rifles 7.62x39mm packs (35) Rounds - Black Polymer. As you demonstrated the release lever may have to be worked prior to installation and frankly if I am dropping this much coin on a chassis I do not expect to have to play gun smith. Will the Archangel LVX Magazine with Lever Release work with the FAB chassis or will it conflict with the FAB onboard magazine release? Also, on the FAB site they have all sorts of buttstock options and I am not sure what RAPS-C means. All help is appreciated. Thanks

The mag release was more likely intentional as the variation between all SKS out there is an issue. So they may have made the mag release fat sines you can always remove material to make it work, but you can’t add material. Fairly easy modification. As for the pro mag magazine, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work as the FAB mage release is in the exact location and function of the factory mag

I liked the choate stock on it, but I'm mostly a hunter with this sks mod. Been looking to pick up another one that I can " BUBBA" at a decent price like you did. Just can't bring myself to mod my 2 original ones, but I like this stock for a SD configuration, if I can get a qualified gunsmith to set it up to take AK mags, which I know can be done an has been. Would love to see you make a vid with a scope to see if this stock will hold a zero @ 100 yds, thx for the vid.

A lot of my friends give me hell for having a Tapco t6 stock, but this is where I draw my personal line. Some designs are good, others so-so, and then there are ones like this that are simply wacky and excessive, imho. I prefer the simplified practicality of the Tapco, but if this works well for you then more power to ya brother.
