I've been a Ryobi customer since Ryobi Blue. Still have all of my tools brushed and brushless. The reasons I have remained customer, consistent quality, durability, reasonable battery cost and their commitment to maintain the 18 volt platform. My blue tools love their Lithium batteries.

In 2000, I bought the big Ryobi kit (the old blue and yellow tools) and still use all of the tools today. Only thing I've had to replace is batteries. Due to the combo price of tool + battery I've added several tools because it was cheaper than batteries alone. BTW, having 2 drills is a time saver for when you need to run a pilot hole and then screw something in. I really need to get the 3/8" ratchet. Hopefully, it's included in Ryobi Days (right before Father's Day) as those tend to be the best bargain of the entire year.

Ryobi tools are just flat out dependable. I don’t know why people tag on them so bad. That’s a great thought for having 2 drills that way I don’t have to keep putting different bits in. The 3/8 ratchet is awesome and surprisingly powerful.

You sold me on the inflater and the angle headed driver and 1/2 " impact. I love Ryobi tools myself and have used them from the time they were blue. I have a trim saw and a chainsaw from that era that I use the heck out of,along with a 3/8 drill that I'm not real crazy about, because the chuck is weak. I feel good about buying their One+ tools because, when they went to lithium batteries they made sure that all the tools we already owned would work with them. We weren't forced into replacing the older tools to get the benefits of the new battery system. They improved some of their tools at that time and are still improving them, so you may want to get the latest model because it's better, and that's how innovation works, but you don't HAVE to buy new tools to use the better batteries and I feel comfortable that any tool I buy today, they will make sure I can use it until I decide I want a better one in the future. I sometimes vacuum my car/truck, but not often, they're both 25 YO and kind of ratty looking, LOL, but I also have a camper that I take better care of. If you like that little Dustbuster style vacuum and the wet dry model, as a detailer and RVer, you will absolutely love the Ryobi Brushless vacuum that has the rotary brush and extension tube. I think the model # is P718. it's an EVERCHARGE tool just like the smaller handheld and it has tools that let it do all the things that that vacuum will do, plus it has a long shaft so you can do tasks at a distance (like vacuuming the dust on the wall molding down by the floor in your house) as well as a powered rotary brush head that lets you use it like a Dyson style home carpet vac. I'm always amazed by the amount of stuff that the collection chamber has in it when I open it and it gets way more use than our full sized plug-in vacuum. It really sux, so to speak. The only complaint I've ever had with using it is that it is so good at getting up hair that I have to frequently cut the hair from the rotary brush's bristles. It's easy enough to do with a pair of scissors, I just hate doing it, but then, our main vac requires the same process, just not as often, because it doesn't work as well as the Ryobi. It works great on bare floors like vinyl and concrete also. If you get one for the shop, don't let your wife ever use it in the house or you will be buying a second one. One other Ryobi tool that I think is very useful and a great value, is their power sprayer. It's so much easier than pumping a conventional bug or weed sprayer. I'm always fighting what I call Crack Weeds that grow out of my cracking and crumbling concrete driveway and patio along with the Virginia Creeper vines that my neighbor decided to cultivate over an arbor he built in his back yard. That stuff pops up out of the ground 20-30 feet or more away from the original planting and would grow all over my fence and garage if I didn't spray several times each year and the Ryobi works great for that pain in the butt of a job. Finally, the little DC to AC power inverter they sell is handy as hell also.

We bought the inflator for our neighbor's bike, as one of his Christmas presents, but my boyfriend told him he may need to borrow it from him for his truck tires some day if he ever gets a flat. We get him Ryobi stuff and I got him a Dremel 4300 and gave him my old Ryobi reciprocating saw because my boyfriend got me a new one in a 6 pack.

I'm gonna steal part of John mony comments and add. I work construction. power tools are mostly supplied by contractor . My personal preference is heavily leaning to Ryobi. Started with Dewalt. Gave those away!!!!! Bought a good starter kit from Rigid and Ryobi . Rigid at one location in the city. Ryobi out in the country. I'm gonna swap out where I keep them . Possibly cut out the orange and go GREEN for both locations! RYOBI IS IN THE LEAD!!!!!

Really been looking into the ryobies and almost certain im going to go with them, especially love that 1/2in impact! Thats something i use in the shop multiple times a week and would love to get one. All there tools seem amazing and exited to get some... Not so much spending money on them but looking forward to nice tools, although for what you get and quality wise they seem like a great deal. Only thing i wish Ryobi would do is have the shop-vac be a hybrid as well, if it was hybrid then i would be more inclined to spend my money on one, ive used the DeWalt brand vac before (smaller 2 gal i think) and it was nice as it also had a cord built in the plug it in but if they put just the adapter of the extension cord... They got my money! Great video!

It seems that everytime I am working on the cars, or gardening or doing yet another project around the house, I wish I had kept more of my husbands or father's tools. Even with a masonary bit installing a camera mount on an exterior brick wall last week took forever. And the air compressor? Biggest mistake letting it go. Good tools make the jobs so much easier and the lack of them are aggravating. I just didn't think I would use them that much and I don't use them like they did, but boy I miss them....the tools and the guys!

I recently bought 12V Milwaukee tools. I wish I had went with Ryobi. I realize they are made by the same company, but the add on tools are much more expensive with Milwaukee. My Craftsman C3s are still going strong too. Once they die, I will switch to Ryobi. These are much more pro-sumer friendly. You are certainly right about Honda crank bolts. I've done 2, when replacing timing belts. Had to put one back together and take to a shop with better equipment. Luckily the last one I did a couple years ago, came off with my large pneumatic impact.

Honda crank bolt, haha. Wrong I pull and pull apart engines daily with that 1/2 600 ft impact. Including axle nuts, what do you think 600 lb is for? , I literally beat the hell out of that impact, it's fallen off of countless numbers of cars! Just make sure you have a 4 amp hour battery or better!

I'm not impressed by the brushless HP drill. The specs show it having more torque than the brushed...but my 5yo brushed drill can spin over a 150cc engine...but the brushless drill cuts out on the compression stroke...the speed control cuts out anytime the torque gets to high I guess. Using it to put in screws or drill a hole, it works fine...but considering what it cost, I could have bought 3 or 4 older drills. If the tool needs safety cutoffs that cut power for anything I am trying to use them on, then they are not worth $150. I have the brushed 3/4 impact gun...I was thinking of getting the brushless version until seeing how the brushless drill acts. My brushed impact gun has never let me down, so why replace it with an expensive brushless version that might decide it needs to shut off? I recently got the cordless vac...it does drain batteries fast and the onboard storage could be better but it does work as a quick and simple vac without having to mess with cords/storage.

Been using Ryobi tools for years,(my circular saw and first drill have the blue casing) I've since added many more with great success. On the job as well as home projects. The only people who bad rap Ryobi are the ones who don't use them every day.

I wish Ryobi would send tools to people who actually need them but might not be able to afford them instead of influencers who have the same tools in every brand name and then some.

that 1/2 impact driver will undo any bolt you have on a vehicle, youd need a 6ft bar to even come close to how effective they are on a ful battery, also your comment about over working it doesnt fly with me, im an engineer and impact drivers are designed to rattle off bolts, ive had mine unmoving and rattling away on some daft stuff i should have been using my 3/4 stuff on, 30 seconds later the bolt comes off. no overheating nothing, mines the brushed version and its stood up to 3 years of abuse so far.

I agree the 1/2 inch is great. They just sent me the brand new 1/2 that is 1,100 breakaway so double this one and it’s a beast. Video coming soon on that. I get what your saying and I hammer on bolts also but what I meant was don’t buy like a 3/8 for jobs you should use a 1/2 on. I see people on KZbin all the time that review 3/8 impacts regardless of brand and some won’t remove lug nuts. Then the comment section is full of people saying the tool is junk because it won’t. Well that’s not what a 3/8 is intended for. That’s what I mean by that. I appreciate you watching and commenting!

@@FABAutomotiveDetailing no totally understand. The smallest impact gun id buy is 1/2. Although im considering the 3/8 ratchet after i saw you show the head swivel on it. Id more than likely crack the bolt by hand then use it to run up the nuts/bolts in difficult positions. Cheers for the reply and loving the videos.

Ryobi can no longer be put in the “diy” category.they keep proving themselves time after time. At this point I would call ryobi “entry level”. I have had dewalt and Milwaukee fail on me but I don’t recall ever having a ryobi fail on me and have only had battery issues.IMO dewalt just sent made like they used to be,the older dewalts could take a beating and still tick

I agree! I have a friend who does construction work for a living and he switched over to all Ryobi about 5 years ago and has yet to have a tool let him down. He was a big DeWalt guy and used to bad mouth my Ryobi tools but got tired of the tools breaking down on him so he took a shot with Ryobi and was glad he did.
