After watching a few DIY videos today, yours is miles higher in my book! I am intrigued by the fire place filler you made, that would be a nifty thing for indoors too if one has an unusable fireplace just hanging out gathering cobwebs. Thanks for sharing your talents here!

Hi Rosemary! Thanks for sharing all the beautiful solar ideas! I don't have a pool or pond either but I'm going to try many of the projects you shared! Our weather is finally getting and staying warm here in Ohio so I'm more than ready to use these on my patio! Thanks again Rosemary!❤

Hi Karen! YAY! So glad to hear warmer weather is setting in in Ohio! Such a gorgeous state! We really enjoyed our time there when my son attended a football camp in Canton several years back. So glad you liked the solar light hacks and will be using some to enjoy that warmer weather! 🙂❤️

Solar light hacks are my all time favorite. I only use solar lights for my outdoor lighting, so these really help to make things a bit different from the norm. DT has a couple new options this year for solar lights, I am looking forward to seeing what your take on them might be. 🌞

@@FABEDhacks they're all very clever. I think you've got a pretty good handle on how light works!
@terirachelsims89284 ай бұрын
Since solar lights are made for outdoor use they usually hold up pretty well with some rain or outdoor watering. But to protect the solar panel from getting cloudy from exp9sure (including sun) a coat of clear nail polish is great. Putting a jar upside down over a solar light also helps when it's a fit instead of putting the solar on top of the jar. The glass cylinders are perfect for that. The plastic gems in the DT floral area are a great addition to add light, either in the plastic part of a solar or around one.

I was in Dollar General Sunday. They have the faceted lights for $1.00. The floral section vase looks like the solar light might fit inside for folks who have a lot of rain. Ok Chaka Khan next time you come to Charlottesville, VA, make sure you bring your tiki torch. That was what the white nationalist carried at the Unite The Right. Yours can be Separate The Irate. I saw the Pottery Barn lamp the other day. Watching you glue in the stones I heard these words… “oh damn, I went to Walmart and forgot rocks.” Thanks for the reminder. I want to start a Neighbor Dennis fan club. Then he will always help you. Whooooaaaa the camp fire is very clever. All the years of scouting something like that would have been fabulous. I think the ranking order is correct.
@FABEDhacks4 ай бұрын
Hi Miss Mary. Thanks for passing the DG info along. So often, DG is selling the almost identical or better items still at $1.00! In regards to the tiki torch, did they carry a solar powered one? Or will the more "carbon friendly" one be for the other side? Of course, we will negate the fact the "carbon friendly" version is manufactured with plastics and the solar panels potentially require minerals and materials often sourced through questionable means. And yes, rocks should always be on the list, right after milk and eggs. Especially as the Unite and Separate crews get heated up as we seem to be on that trajectory. You never know when a few rocks in your purse will come in handy. As for the Neighbor Dennis fanclub, YEEESSS!! I love it!! I will let him know. He will get a kick out of that! So glad you liked the campfire light! It is fun but sadly, not so good at making s'mores.🙂❤️

@@FABEDhacks so far yours is the only solar tiki I’ve seen. Does the liquid in the old school torches contain citronella? That’s a big seller, especially in Texas. The mosquitoes use the torches like they’re flying monkeys in Oz.

Do solar lights stop working ...what to do when they stop working, because everything is glued together
@FABEDhacks4 ай бұрын
Some, like the dollar tree ones, tend to be short lived. So it is worth the investment to go for better quality ones. For example, the fire look ones I bought at Amazon, are going strong into their second year with daily use. Alternately, you could use the silicone mounting tape I use in many of my videos as the adhesive. That stuff is amazing and will hold until you apply pressure to remove it. And then for more than half of the lights like the tiki, lantern, vanity, faceted and RH and placemat ones, you can just lay the solar light on top, then replace as needed.

I bought 4 of those lights that have a silver colored top and none seem to work. Are the batteries included or are we supposed to buy and install them? The instructions are not clear about that.

How dies the bottom light in the torch charge or ligjt when theres no solar conectio
@FABEDhacks4 ай бұрын
I know, that is confusing but there is only one light in the tiki torch and I separated it. First I removed the pole and stake from the bottom, then I removed the plastic faceted case from the light. Only the light itself gets glued to the tiki fuel canister lid and only the plastic case with out the light gets glued into the bottom of the tiki torch. By doing that, what I am trying to do is still use the reflective cone at the bottom of the plastic case to reflect the light coming down from the light at the top back up into the torch.
