With Fabfilter, there are so many sound design possibilities that you can do almost anything and it’ll sound good as long as it challenges boundaries, makes musical sense and sits well within the mix. Opening a Fabfilter plugin on a track or group of tracks, for me, is like being a kid in a candy store❤

Just when I told myself that I don't need any more delay/reverb/eq/compressor/saturation plugins after upgrading to Saturn 2, Fabfilter come along and release this beauty. I loved the sound of Timeless 2, especially the saturation caused by extreme feedback, but I never gelled with its interface and the lack of a ping-pong mode (even though you could still get a ping-pong-like result) bugged me. I found myself using Waves H-Delay the most over the years, and more recently, Arturia's delay plugs. I'd only turn to Timeless 2 if I wanted something more experimental. The moment Dan used Timeless 3 as a reverb-like effect on that sawtooth convinced me to check out my FF account to see what the price is like with FF's loyalty discount! As it turns out, I DO need another delay plug-in...

Aaaah, yes, this is exactly what I needed! I have the Fab Filter Reverb plugin, and that's nice, but mostly when you want to imitate an actual room. When I just wanted a clean reverb like a beat FX on a DJ Mixer I found it Pro-R very difficult to produce that. Now it looks like there is a plugin that can give me that effect and also gives me all the buttons I would need to tweak it! Really nice!

Dammit, I wasn't going to get this plugin because I thought Valhalla Delay had covered all my needs. But the Tap editor and the flexible filtering options sold me!
@cfs3 жыл бұрын
I'm trying out T3. I think it's more of a replacement for XT, whereas it would compliment Valhalla Delay and/or Echoboy. I find Delay to be super easy to create basic and moderately complex delays (I LOVE the new Quartz mode!), but do see myself eventually getting T3 for the creative delays, replacing D16 Tekturon, for example. I think that, outside of specific tape emulations, a combo of T3 and either Delay or Echoboy would pretty much cover 95% of delay needs.
@Breakbeat90s3 жыл бұрын
@@cfs whats XT? but yeah i feel like this + valhalla are my default delays now
@djsreja13 жыл бұрын
@@cfs can you tell me what does Valhalla Delay offer you that this one doesn't?
@cfs3 жыл бұрын
@@djsreja1 The number one thing is fast ease of use for basic delay functions. Valhalla Delay resizes text not just some UI elements and the background (Fabfilter's customer resizing is pretty good but falls a little short of what I'd consider to be actual resizing). The second thing is quick emulation methods - Valhalla Delay it's easy to choose to sound like tape, or a BBD, etc, whereas with T3 you have to architect it and save as a preset and then tweak. Valhalla Delay is like an amazing Delay pedal - few options to tweak at any given time, but always sounds good and interesting. T3 is, to me, akin to synths with lots of modulation and other options that really lets you dive deep and explore new worlds. Those aren't the synths I usually turn to when I just want to turn or push a few things and get some great sound. Different goals, different modes of operation. Don't get me wrong - I still bought Timeless3 last night :-) I also moved XT into my Less Used sub-folder in my Delays top-level folder, leaving, unsurprisingly, only Valhalla Delay and Timeless3 as my main delays I'll turn to first.
