This tutorial actually helps with ANY WaveTable synth, like Vital, SERUM, and Union. If you use ANY WT Synth that allows drag and drop modulation linking,, this video is great.

Standing this synth to the masses of my other synths there is still no comparison. This thing is a beast after 10 bloody years. Well done fabfilter. Your work has paid off and we’re still reaping the benefits of your labor. Appreciated.

I never dared to touch (effectively) those knobs. I absoluetly love the Twin2 presets - especially for Bass Synths! But this brings it all to a new level! Thanks so much!

Just bought it. It's 2017 now and I actually had no clue this plug-in is THAT old. Apart from sounding great Twin 2 makes a great first impression because of its GUI. I'm a big fan of Waves, but even their recent plug-ins don't look that smooth.

I'd actually like to see you give another tutorial on how to use the fab filter. More like an in depth explanation on how the parameters work and how one parameter can modulate another parameter. You kind of breezed through all the configurations when it came to discussing all the features and what not. Maybe more than one. Like a series. I'd look forward to it.

synth sounds awesome, 1) what's the difference between moving the balance ring all the way to the left and moving the phase offset directly in the step window?. 2) how do we know what's modulating what if there is no indication of routing as soon as the dragging line disappears after we hit the target?
@kaloyandonev873110 жыл бұрын
Notice that there is a little "M" on the right corner of every parameter. Click on it and it'll show you how is being modulated.
@DanWorrall14 жыл бұрын
@luckyjrs Yes, subtractive: the quality of the filters is a major selling point. However, it will also do PWM, ring modulation, oscillator sync etc. so "Virtual Analogue" might be a better description.

@euphoritch :D You are a real old wise youtube man. But I see what you mean. I know what I like, and yes I do my own music - which I also like :D But I still need to explore other peoples music too, because often that's where I find inspiration. And how can you like anything or any kind of music if you have never heard anything? On the other hand, there's SO much music, different kinds of music, and new music that you want to hear to see if that's your thing. Hope this makes sense...

Hardware synths don't last forever either. What happens when a rare transistor dies on a vintage synth? It is difficult to find a replacement. With computers, you just copy the vst + settings to a new one.

*Nothing* is forever though... I remember when a PCB goes out on a vintage piece of gear, and you either redesign it yourself, if you pay someone else to. It isn't cheap either. That said, no platform is the be all end all solution. You can't get analog sounds from a soft synth, just as you can't do certain things on a hardware synth. They each have their place and usage. Just my .02
@tz46013 жыл бұрын
Too bad this plugin is still $154 over a decade later. It seems fun to play around with, osc quality seems good, the way you link mod sources & targets feels fairly intuitive for how I work. But with stuff like the insanely-full-featured Vital available free and Phaseplant available (along with all of Kiloheart's effects stuff) for $5/mo., $150+ is just too much for a 12 year old traditional 3-osc synth.
