Thanks Fabian for this great idea! I just built one for a gift for my wife. I went a step further and used the inside of the box (the part cut out) and scrolled the word "LOVE" in a fancy font. I also lined the inside with black velvet so the word just fits in it. I do believe she will like it. Thanks again for the great idea!!

Which scroll saw do you own? I bought a Craftsman and it is leaving much to be desired. The blade walks all over the place and making curves is a task. You seem to have an effortless way for your cuts. What blades do you prefer to use? Thanks so much for your videos. I've learned a lot from watching them!

I'm making one for my granddaughter, and of all the ones I have watched on youtube, this one is the nicest. The ones with 4 bands are getting too dominant, I like this one. I make the ribbon of larch and Philippine mahogany in 5 strips. The Danish word for larch (Lærke) is her name. So it couldn't be any other material than that. 👌 Thanks for sharing.

do you have a problem with the suction on the boxes? I started drilling a small hole in the bottom to let some air in to make my boxes easier to pull apart.

Tolle Arbeit. Welche Sorte Holz nimmst du für die Schachtel. Das Holz ist sicher kein Hartholz,denn solch großer Querschnitt mit der Dekupiersäge sägen hat bei mir nicht funktioniert. Gruß albrecht

Naja...doch! Es ist Zwetschge (die Schleife) und Nussbaum (die Box). Deckel und Boden sind nur Sperrholz. Vesuch mal ein anderes Sägeblatt. z.B. Niqua Fix Blau Nr.3 oder auch Nr.5, (z.B. über Amazon) dass sind die Blätter, die ich immer verwende. Ach ja, ganz wichtig, klares Paketklebeband um das Holz wickeln, dass schmiert das Sägeblatt und verhindert zum Teil die Hitzeentwicklung und damit Brandspuren und verlängert die Haltbarkeit der Blätter. Love this project...but I am confuses as to how you are cutting the lines to get the box! Are you cutting just the lines on either side of the gray shaded area? It is hard to tell in the video. Plus, I am a new scroller. This will actually be my first project!
