I think I have to agree with those nice people who brought the salmon. You are all more than just your average people , your beyond that because you chose to share it all. This isn't some crappy reality show, it's the real deal . You've shared great times and and most graciously shared the hardest times with us. That to me says it all. I don't know you but I love you guys for who you are to us. You deserve to be treated with kindness as we all know you would do the same for us. These gifts are truly heart felt in the giving. Thanks for being all that you are. Take care and we'll see you on the next one. PS super stoked over the FJ looks wickedly fun.

Love the show. As a fabricator for close to 25 years, I would like to humbly suggest when chasing those leaking pinholes, sometimes you can take a punch or cold chisel and tap/pound the hole closed before welding over it. Also, with the cutting wheels on your angle grinder, I had one come apart and break two fingers once. Had it come apart in the direction of my face...I hate to think about it. Wish I had known about you all last year and I would have stopped by on my way to the elk hunt on Cedar Mountain. I often drive through Glendale. I grew up in Churchwells, down near the Paria and Lake Powell. God Bless and thanks for the great videos. Lee.

Paul, my step dad used to swear by plumbing in low pressure argon and welding.. he said it welded inside and outside.. might have helped in building that tank.. he was a Stainless Fabrication specialist... miss his knowledge all the time.. I do honestly love all the amazing custom work you do.. i watch almost immediately when your videos come out!

Met Matt and the crew last year on a road trip from Washington to Arizona. Fixing to do another trip in a few weeks and would love to meet Paul. My favorite thing about his videos are the epic little sayings he has. "Might work, might do it again" and "get after it" are awesome. Seems he has so many little quips and sayings that are brilliant and folksy. My grandfather was a WWII tank crewman and inspiration for the movie "Fury". He could fabricate anything in his farm shop outside Rupert, Idaho. Before diesel pickups were a thing, he converted a new `82 Chevy 3/4-ton to diesel with a 5 cyl. Dietz motor. Paul could be a younger version of him.

Don't forget to put a condensation drain plug on the bottom.
@TrevorDennis100
@TrevorDennis100 2 жыл бұрын
And make it really easy to undo and drain so it will get done regularly, and not be one of those round-tuit jobs. One of the compressors I use is buried beneath two welders and a plasma cutter, and it is a PITA to get to the drain fitting, which means the first time you use the air gun, you know for sure it is going to blow rusty water. I plan to extend the drain to where we can access it, but so far I have not been able to remove the fitting from the tank. Why is life so hard sometimes? 😒

That's a cool bumper. Turned out better than i was expecting. For me personally, when i need something to be pressure tight, i just go straight to tig welding whenever practical. It takes longer to weld but i regain the time because i don't need to fix many leaks and it's less grinding if i want the welds smoothed off.

Man I fell in love with this build the second Paul held one of those wheels up to it and said it’s gonna be low. Now every single piece that he puts on it makes me a little bit more jealous each time. God damn that’s a dream rig. I envy Paul for having built the coolest rig on planet earth.

Yes Paul......I’ve had a simple single axle trailer since 2002, and after attempting some repairs, improvements, and repainting in 2011, it was time for much needed improvements, repairs, and repainting. Your fab and welding encouraged me to purchase a very simple flux welder from Harbor Freight and “get after it.” I’m happy to report that I’m a much more satisfied trailer owner. I even fabbed my own spare tire rack for the side of my trailer, and it turned out way better than I expected....even made my own locking mechanism for the spare tire. So thank you for the swift kick in the backside, and the encouragement to “nail it!”

For anyone that doesn't already know, "TOYODA" with a "D" is usually found buried somewhere on the markings of your car, in often somewhat obscure places. This is essentially in honor of the Toyota founder Kiichiro Toyoda. The company name was chosen to have a "T" instead of a "D" because it took eight brush strokes (a lucky number) to write in Japanese, instead of ten.

That front bumper is so sweet. You killed it Paul. The fact that it's also an air tank is some seriously smart and efficient packaging. The coolest bumper I've ever seen fabricated. Well done!

The FJ build so far is my favorite. Incredible watching it all come together. Can’t wait to see it rock climbing. I learned I should not have cable on my winch. Will try a rope. Great job guys and gal!

Got to see the Cox family and the YOTA in St. George on Saturday!!! This family is really as awesome as they seem on the videos and the YOTA is so COOL! I can't wait to see it "finished"! Are they ever really finished? Michelle was so nice to chat with (it's got to be kinda weird to have total strangers come up and " know" so much about you). Big thanks to Paul and Michelle for making their videos "G" rated and keep the movie quotes coming (especially Christmas Vacation quotes)!

People that don't know how to work with metal would say you need to tap by hand. I have tapped literally several hundred thousand holes using a drill motor while installing steel doors and hardware over 35 years. We used to use beeswax before they came out with tapping fluid. Cutting oil is too messy. There is a product called Tap-ease that is wax like and lasts forever. The only way to break a tap is if you get the tap in a bind. If it stops cutting, stop, reverse, and hit it again. I never would tap using the impact function though. As an owner of several FJ's over the years and a current owner of a 76 Series, this build is looking awesome. Cant wait to see the finished product out on the trails.

Man what a great episode! This is the most exciting build on YT. That thing looks amazing, can’t wait to see tit finished! This episode had the old magic with Paul explaining just what he was about to do then gettin to it, and it’s always nice to see Lan and Graydon making an appearance in the shop, even if for just a few seconds. Always enjoy those two and their antics. BTW, that windshield is killing me. Can’t wait to see that thing fixed!! 😁

When you replace the windshield, I think you need to get a sticker made so it looks exactly like it does now. That spiderweb crack makes it look even more BA than it does already. It's character!
