For many years I've cursed every time I needed to work under a car's dash. The contortions always leave me with muscle aches for days. I can also hear myself always saying, "there has to be a better way to do this!" Thanks for validating my pain!

On the subject of leaking heater cores, I have to say I used a technique i learned from FabRats. It was a Tacoma episode where it was overheating. I blew out a heater core line 10 miles out of Cuero coming back from Austin. First I tried the useless roadside assistance. After an hour of helping the lady check the boxes on her screen to send a truck to a totally different town the truck was cool enough to drive. I started powering up the hills and coasting down until I saw Cuero Creek. Found me a bottle and filled up with creek water, and made it to the Oreillys! They had a line in stock so I changed it in the parking lot and made it home.

Good job guys, another great video. In my high school days my friends and I had little money but desperately wanted a car. Before I was old enough to get a drivers license I bought a 57 Chevy with a blown engine learned as I went. My friends and I visited wreaking yards for parts and worked on our hotrods in barns or where ever. Learned a lot from my farmer friends as they had been keeping trucks and tractors going with ingenuity and recovery parts and helped me along. Now as an older guy watching you take out the heater core and leaf springs brought back memories. Fingers crossed the Coronet gets you to Oregon with no problems. If something comes up the master mechanic Paul will know just what to do.

whoa, whoa, whoa..."juvenile way" ...to get on the lift? I beg to differ. a maneuver like that requires years ...and years of experience with bio-mechanics and its correlation with precise throttle control coordinated via bio-molecular systems, e.g. auditory, visual, spatial awareness and parasympathetic nervous systems to accurately pilot an internal combustion system while calculating rotational mass and decisively reduce or increase fuel and RPM to stage the entire vehicle perfectly under the lift. "juvenile"?!...I think not...its a thorough understanding of physics, engineering and mathematics so as not to catapult that baby through a wall!!!! (you're welcome Paul!)

When we are we were younger my brother Chris and i had a similar relationship that one of us always knew something about whatever we were working on so whoever had the most expertise took charge and it just seemed to work for us. We grew up in Upstate New York where if you weren't going up or or down you were following the valley it was nothing else. My brother hauled slab wood and saw dust so he was forever breaking his trucks. Ee had gotten to the point that we knew what the other was doing so well that we could run down the road pulling one truck with another at 65 miles an hour where the second truck could not see anything but the tail lights. we never had problems we never hit anything or anybody because we had such trust in each other we could do it I would never do it today with anybody other than my brother. Thanks for sharing these videos I really enjoy watching you guys work. Thanks from Virginia USA and I'm Bob!
