Paul, the air nozzle reminds me, this past week I was a seller at a flea market. A guy a few spaces away from me had a rowboat he was selling, and had a backpack leaf blower just sitting in it. I commented that I liked his air boat, but he might want a bigger motor to run it. His quick response was, that the leaf blower was just his trolling motor. 😁

He looked after his broom. It had 14 new heads and 12 new handles. Grampas Sherms old truck is like triggers broom, constantly changed chassis, motor, transmission, axles and remodelled cab. Not much left. Very similar to the Golden Nugget being Eds original truck except the only thing on it (almost) was the chassis. Love these builds.

As a former boiler welder I cannot express how dangerous it is to build a pressure vessel out of a square or rectangle There is a reason that boilers and pipes are round or cylinder shape and not square or rectangle just saying
@einarschwentke78132 жыл бұрын
Yes. My thoughts too. Did you see Matt’s heavy wrecker frame bulge when they aired it up on Matt’s Off-road channel? ...scary.
@karlschwaber95682 жыл бұрын
I agree, I have never seen anybody use anything but a cylinder for air pressure.
@TheSoulTruthInc2 жыл бұрын
It depends on the thickness and desired pressure. Certainly round is best and cheapest, but other shapes are technically possible if properly engineered. Where it get's weird in my opinion is having it in the structure that's gonna take hits while wheeling. And it's in the cab in this case so it could let off in there depending on the hit and where it decides to open up. There's a lot of energy there wanting to be released. Tucking a tank up in the frame rails probably would've been better.
@doddyvanstraaten27742 жыл бұрын
It's a rock slider, not a pressure vessel - just checking for leaks does not count! FFS!
@64BINDER2 жыл бұрын

I am not an expert by any means but you might want to think about changing the placement of the air "tank" fittings to the top of the rail. That way when the truck slides off of a rock or you run over brush, logs, other rocks, etc., you have maximum protection of your air fitting. Love the tow truck vids, awesome work. Cheers from small town Texas!

I used a SN95 Mustang fan on my 82 Mustang GT , it draws 60 amps at start up . After many over heating adventures , rewiring the system a couple 3 times I came up w/3 60 amp solenoids and a 60 circuit breaker. 1 solenoid for low speed , 1 for high speed and 1 to switch between the 2. Finaly ripped it all off and went back to a Factory Machanical fan.

Welded natural gas pipe for 35 years with mig. If you don't want any leaks grind your starts and stops back at a angle. A mig starts cold so start at the back of the angle so it burn the thin edge away of the grind. The best way is to do a root pass and cap. Hope that helps. Keep up the awesome videos.
