Oh good heavens some people will try to ruin joy everywhere they show up. Your lovely, funny banter is part of why we love you! Good afternoon Pam! 💕 For heavens sake, if I didn’t hear the usual Pam Chatter I’d think I was in the wrong place. 🤗 Newbies need to know why and what you are doing and you’re great at that. Besides, there’s a thing called a Mute button if someone needs it. I picked up a used ( but functional) flat iron for hair at the thrift store for a couple of bucks. Great for those stubborn wrinkles on small pieces of fabric while sitting at my desk. This cover is so pretty. Haven’t tried the lacy layered cover yet. (Adding to ‘next’ list.) Hope all is well at the Outpost. 💕

I don't think you talk too much I am on my own 80% of the time and it is lovely that there are people like you who end up keeping the likes of me company. You also make me smile many times often when I don't really feel like smiling much. So for me please do not stop your chatter, people when don't like it can always mute the sound they don't have to listen.

I had to pause to tell you this story (and you NEED to talk a lot on youtube videos, like... wtf lol. Keep talkin, they just hatin') I was watching you sewing the lace bits onto the flour sack and you threw me into a childhood memory - a pleasant one, for which I'm thankful. I'm not 100% sure of my age, but I'm thinking I was around 10-12 years old... my mother was amazing at sewing - and loved to sew. (Sadly, her teaching methods resulted in my hatred of it). This memory is actually a compilation of many memories around this time period - the time of "heirloom sewing". In a similar way, she would piece together yard after yard of laces, trims, etc.. but with NO flour sack backing, just using the zigzag stitch. These strips of lace trims, etc became huge panels of cloth - ready to be cut into dresses, skirts, etc. They all ended up as floating overlays to the most delicate and softest of underthing fabrics (type-name - not chiffon... chemise?). I wish I could describe just how beautiful, unique, and romantic these things were! When she then combined it with ribbon embroidery... chef's kiss. I wish I had fully appreciated her work then (she was a hard woman to get along with). You've given me a great idea for a journal cover... sort of a combo of this technique and what I remember... gonna sketch it out in my idea journal while I finish watching. Thanks, Pam... good memories are awesome =D

Finally got to watch the last part of the video! Sewing the lace on an angle instead of straight = interesting design element. If you ever forget to lock the stitches at the beginning or end of sewing, and the tails of the threads are long enough, you can gently pull up one of the two threads, pull the resulting wee loop through to the same side as the other tail, then secure them with a square knit, you can still glue it, but the knot gives a bit of extra insurance.
